SCX 10.2 Jeep XJ Body on SCX 10 Deadbolt?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I love my SCX10 Deadbolt (1st gen) but I'd love to change the look.

I purchased the Jeep XJ body for the SCX 10.2 but quickly realized that it wasn't going to be as easy to "adapt it" to fit the Deadbolt. I purchased the rear parts tree for the riser so the back isn't as much of an issue but the front posts don't line up at all. I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has done that and what parts you used. Is there a kit?

I'm two years into this hobby so I'm still a newbie so be gentle. :)

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Can't you just drill 2 new holes for the front posts?

I can't remember which parts tree, but an axial parts tree has offset body posts, and if you can't find those, I think you can get 3d printed ones off shapeways, should make it pretty well drop on when you adjust the shock towers and link length for wheelbase correction. I haven't done this, it's all adjustments in my mind but I think thats all I did to adapt recon g6 wrangler body to a 10.2, so shouldn't be hard to reverse it.

I probably could but the body came pre-drilled. Good tip though.

I think I may have found it.

Thanks for the tip. I also checked out Shapeways, very cool stuff. It looks like they have the same part as well, maybe a wee bit less durable though.

Those are offset like I was talking about, but the holes are opposite of how you'd hold them in the slots on your OG deadbolt I think. Wouldn't be hard to throw a hole through them though and you'll have extras.
