Default Scx10 steering/shock issue

Is it normal on a scx10 for the chassis to hit the steering arm before the shock is compressed all the way. It seems like I’ve only got 1/2 of the shock travel. If I turn when compressing it I can get it to bottom out but not when the wheels are straight. Was this just a design flaw in the scx10? I got the truck for my son used from a guy that had been doing his own mods and just want to see if this was normal. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes pretty much normal. Shorter shocks make it worse.

The SSD D60 CMS with bent links works well with 90mm shocks:

And youll notice the rear upper links prolly hit the rear chassis brace too. You need to remove the one chassis brace in the front so the servo has room. When the suspensions fully compressed the servo should actually sit inside the chassis rails

Perfect thanks guys I will check the rear as well. I didn’t notice it as bad as the front but the suspension sure doesn’t seem right. Would I be better off putting longer shocks on it to try and help have some extra travel?

Try shock hoops with multiple mounting holes so u can mount the stock shocks just the little bit lower yea need so things dont hit

Yea I believe the shock hoops that I’ve got on there have other holes. I will give that a shot. Thanks for the help guys.
