Default Proline Jeep Wrangler

Yup, A Jeep.
Building as a replica of my friends Jeep.
basicly as stock looking as possible (no Lift Kit) :O

SCX10 chassis
Axial 27T motor
AE5
1.9 PitBull RockBeast (my Fav)

1.9 China Beadlock alloy wheels
hardbody jeep Mirrors and wipers for scale/stock look.
Howler battery tray

Had to add heights to rear body post to reach hardtop.
Stacked lift kits to raise body post.
That is what ya do with all those extra body posts mounts..

Of course his jeep is red.

Looks good. I like building scale replicas of 1:1..
1/25, 1/24 and 1/10.
I generally only like building Suzukis or Dodges.
Gotta have a theme ya know.. ;)

Soo, My friend also has a bike rack on his.
Working on that too.

I gave him a back-up camera too..
Guess I need to add that next.

It's my own take on it but it will look close enough to pass..

Bike rack works.

But one problem.
Bike is heavy and bumper is weak.

New metel bumper on the way.

Ya might be wondering about the wheel/tire change..
My friend thought the tires looked too big for his jeep.
Soo, I ordered the Pro-Line BFGoodrich M/Ts and Black Look alike jeep wheel beadlocks.
For scale look, i installed The Scale shop lockerz scale hubs and LockedupRC M3 x 12mm Scale Hex Bolts

I also added a winch because what jeep would be complete with out one?

The front will lower once the battery is installed.

That sir is stellar work. With the new tires and bike rack that thing looks so 1:1 I showed a friend the pic and he did not believe it was 1:10.
Fantastic work, the bike rack is awesome.

Great work. I really like scale replicas of 1:1 owner rigs.

It looks to me though like the sliders would (theoretically) block the doors from opening, with how high they stick up. That's a little pet peeve of mine.

Thanks, made from brass, Aluminum and plastic. Gotta find a way to make
it lighter.

Yes, I painted the black on the outside by trimming the Protective film and

pressing the edges back down.

worked better than I thought.

What kind of paint - I’ve never tried that. How is it holding up?

Tamiya paints for polycarbonate (R/C) bodies

Holds up as good or better than any other paints.

Another option is to use Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner. It simulates the texture of the Jeep hard tops very well. I just did my Gen8 Scout body like this. For best adhesion, lay down a layer of black polycarbonate paint, then paint the bed liner over that. The polycarbonate paint will adhere to the lexan, and the truck bed liner will adhere to that. I took a couple tumbles on concrete with mine last night (in 15 degree temps to boot!) and it didn't leave a single mark in the roof.

I've got more details in this thread if you're interested: Redcat Gen 8 "Clear body" Edition
