| Replacement axles for my SCX10
I recently bought a SCX10 that has the vanquish Stage 1 knuckles and chubs on it. I broke a front axle and went to replace it with another stock one i had and it is too short by like 1/2". What axles fit these with the stage 1? My axles are the black steel open knuckle type. Is there an upgrade axle for it? |

Welcome to the forum! A pic of the broken axle would probably help identify it. The easiest way to put pictures in your posts is download the Tapatalk app. As far as upgrade axles. You can buy Scx10-2 axles and the servo on axle mount for them or go all out and do the CMS and 3 link. There's also upgrading a stock axle with XR10 chubs and knuckles (XR mod) better steering same housings. SSD makes a D60 housing for the Scx10 which are more scale looking and you can get them all ready setup for XR mod. Scx10-2 axles is probably the best way to go since you will gain axle clearance and steering by doing it. Hope some of this helps.

First off welcome to RCCRAWLER. It sounds like maybe you have a modded axle or are not looking at an SCX10 axle. Maybe a SCX10 II or previous owner changed to something else? I think the only difference in a stage 1 is heavier duty parts. 1/2 inch difference sounds like you have a XR10 mod. It takes longer axles making the stance wider and more stable. It will also give more steering as the wheels have more room to turn. If you can "clock" the c-hubs it is definitely modded. The SCX10 hubs only go on in one position. If you want to clock the SCX10 hubs you have to buy different hubs. Hope this helps |

Great info guys. I definitely have a scx10 axle as i compared it to a stock one and it is identical except for the chubs and knuckles. Must be xr10 mod as the chubs are clockable. Does anyone make Beefy xr10 axles?

I have to say the stock axles are pretty beefy. I run them on all 4 of my comp rigs and have only had 1 fail. It was a tumble down about 35 ft section of ledge, truck did about 50 cartwheels. The front axles were fine, it bent the rear one. There are stronger ones for sale on here if you do a search. If you are running 1.9 tires you will probably be fine, unless you are real tough on your rig. Those axles are from a rig with 2.2 wheels and tires. They have a lot more leverage on the axle than the 1.9s. |
