This looks really good with the boggers! I agree, they are perfect for it.

I really enjoy the Proline Boggers, they hook up suprisingly well in rocks as well as their expected terrain.

Well, fired it up and the servo decided to crap itself...ordered another one, 25kg Amazon that looks to be pretty popular on the forum. Also took the bumpers off, made a no nonsense winch platform for the front and in the process of tabbing up a snatch point in the rear. Went with steel bolted to the frame instead of the plastic crossmembers. This sucker is getting heavier lol. Most of the weight is still up front.

New servo in. Much faster than the old one...a little noisy but I can live with that. Came with a nice metal horn. Didn’t have to adjust anything, bolted it in and steers straight as an arrow.

Then...I took it for a test drive, noticed the left front wheel wobbling, then noticed it was at an odd angle...took the wheel off on the bench and the bearing pretty much came with it, little balls everywhere lol. Ordered a front/rear complete set. This is an expensive hobby lol. Hopefully that’s it for a minute.

Yeah. That's a legit mud truck!
Good job.

Got the new bearings installed front/rear. Fixed 95% of the front wobble, I think the rest is inherent to the design/play in the SCx10 axle shaft. Shouldn't hurt anything but if it does there's always Amazon LOL. The bearings are pretty smooth though. One of the rears was on its last legs as well so probably a good thing I ordered the whole set. I pumped some grease down the axle tube in the rear for good measure, figured I can't have too much in there if this thing is built for mud and water.

Still daydreaming about what I want to do with this thing. I may start playing around with the links/driveshafts to stretch the wheelbase just a touch. This body just seems too big for 12.3 to me and I double checked to make sure it didn't shrink when I lifted it. I'd rather it too long than too short. Problem is I have absolutely no idea how to order driveshafts. The links I can figure out with some allthread/sleeves and what not. Then I go to "why stick with these axles" but when I added all of the time/effort/money into upgrades the smart money says keep this as-is for a basher/backup/loaner and buy something new/already upgraded. We'll see. I change my mind a lot lol.

Simple winch bumper, more of a winch platform. Continuing in the no nonsense mud truck theme...I removed the shock brackets and bolted them to the frame. It’s a little more solid now but it did lift it a hair more. This thing definitely has a single purpose now lol.

New servo and the shock mount location. They are angled back, the rears are angled forward.

Cut down Wrangler roll cage = light bar. The “lights” are cable brackets. Just until I figure out something permanent. Slapped the roof basket in the bed.

It is 100% Velcro mounted body now, I made platforms front/rear for good contact patches, and has stayed on for 1.5 rollovers so far. I can pick the truck up with the body so it grabs pretty well.

This is a big bitch for 1.9 tires. May do the whole king flings thing but happy with the look of these boggers so far. Now just need rain and mud...

May have to head to a creek.

After looking at that side shot I think I'm going to paint the body flat black underneath. Will hide the lack of fender wells lol. Might make a "floor" at dash level for the cab just to hide the electronics. I think I just talked myself into another stupid project that has nothing to do with driving it.

Found some paper thin styrene sheet in my stash that will be perfect. Don't want to add any more weight up top :(

Natural habitat. It did great, took it hood deep and it just kept on trucking.

Thanks, that’s definitely all it’s good for, straight hard launches. This thing is not crawling lol. Top heavier than Dolly Parton.
