| Current thinking of leaky shocks
I know there are tons of threads out there on leaky SCX10 0G shocks. But what's the latest on "fixing" them, if even possible? I'm starting to use my 0G Rubicon more and more since it has been sitting on the shelf for a few years. The rears seem to leak like a sieve. The fronts seem to be "ok". Mainly trailing and light crawling. (a) Triple o-rings w/o spacer. (b) Mount it upside down. (c) Use the Traxxas blue x-rings which I've tried but it seems to be too big to fit so I gave up. (d) Replace them! I'm ok with (d) and the consensus seems to be Traxxas. I know Proline makes a set but it's too spendy for me on an older model. I looked at Traxxas but they make so many that I'm confused on what to get that would fit the 0G and be somewhat scale like (no whacky colors please). Thoughts? |

I wouldnt bother with the stock shocks unless you like running without oil. ( I don't mind tbh) Traxxas Trx4 Gts shocks are the current fav to replace the leaky Axial shocks.... https://traxxas.com/news/gts-shock-pro-build |

^^^Agree with the Traxxas GTS shocks. Very smooth and leak free and can be found on eBay for less than $50 for a set of 4. I run these on most of my rigs and am very happy with them. |

Thanks guys! $50 for set of 4???!!!! I thought they were $40 a pair? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong ones? https://www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas...ra8260/p668361 Do you have a part number I can reference? (I'm assuming they come in one length size?) EDIT: Removed. (Sorry, responded to wrong thread. That's what happens when your wife is screaming at you to leave the house and you have to get that one last response in! ) Last edited by Kingmeow; 10-07-2020 at 09:16 AM. |
