Default SCX10 Deadbolt tucked front bumper.

What are my options for a front bumper that doesnt stick out so far from the front tires?

I could describe it to you but really the best thing to do is read up on some build threads and see what others have done to the Deadbolt, I just bought a Deadbolt 2 and I'm doing the same thing...there are tons of builds since it has been around so long. I bought a new bumper for mine and will post it up in my build thread if I start one (the truck gets here tomorrow but all of the bits/pieces are scattered around and won't arrive for a few weeks).

For my OG SCX10 when I had a Jeep body on it I just drilled new holes in the bumper mount (the tubes that insert into the frame cross member), slid it in further, and bolted it down. That moved it in a 1/2 inch or so. You just have to look at the relationship between the components and remember it is only plastic

That stock bumper sits too low, too far out, and is too wide. That's why I ordered a different one and will be making my own frame cross member/mount to move it up and in. I like the body a lot on the DB but it looks like it is just slapped on the frame in a mock-up and that's as far as they got with it :( I suppose that's what you get when you use the same chassis, brackets, and body mounts for 3 different trucks.

The proline Ridgeline narrow bumper might fit your needs. I got one on a Bronco build, can fit LEDs inside the bumper and has a spot for mounting a winch
