Default Resurrection of plain jane ax10 axles

Seeing all these awesome rigs spurred me to rebuild the ole girl.
She started her life as a B-17 Betty and slowly transformed into a ram charger.

Time for some new axles, but none of this new fangled scxii or iii.

Dropping the ax10s

Out with the old.

All I'm keeping

New axle and carrier housing built up.

Original guts and knuckles

I doubt these will take 3s, but that's ok, I run 2s and an out runner.
Why am I running a carrier with caps, no good reason, cause I can.
Also I'm sure someone will pick up on my biggest mistake, I'll have to do another housing.

So, I'm sure it was caught, I forgot the link mount for the upper link. Dumb.
Well, used a piece from old axles and got them mounted up

Thanks guys.
Took them out for a thrashing today, the rocks where I go are like razors

Next is redoing the axle housing, with actual upper link mount this time.

Then on to do the rear.

Also making a standard 3 link setup for my son's truck, direct replacement.

Finished modeling the axle housing for my son's scx10, here's a teaser.

looking for input from scx10 2 and 3, trx 4, redcat, basically any newer rc axle.

what kingpin angle is standard for these toy axles, 5-8 degree?

thanks in advance.

The new housings with proper upper link mounts are still being fabed, but I found an old set of gmc eaton 2.5 ton axles at the military surplus yard on the way home. New inners and some cleanup and they'll go under my son's scx10.

I guess it's time to upgrade the redneck panhard mount.

Couldn't keep the hacked up servo mount, so new parts.

Let's do this.
Out with the old rear.

New rear.
And I couldn't take the leaky shocks that I've rebuilt a thousand times it feels.
It's blasphemous, but I've heard good stuff about the trx4 shocks.

Ready to install.

I'm really curious what material and process you are using to make your axle housings. The detail is amazing and that texture makes them look like they're sand cast or laser sintered. They look great.

the white parts are Duraform HST made in a SLS machine.
the grey parts are PA 12 printed with a HP Jet Fusion.

Thanks.

The black parts are from a markforge and from the ender 3 in the background
