Mine too. And probably 95% of them are in the 1:1 world.

Back up on RPP's new items page. $349 and says it's a kit

They made this new version because saturation of SCX10 in hobbyists hands was nearly full. No one is going to buy another SCX10 after they just dumped 1-2k in links, paint, lights, winches, motor, esc, radio, etc. They need something drastically different to get the scale guys to buy a new rig.

We aren't racers who hardly mod their vehicles and buy a slightly different kit each year. We need big change to change our minds. We are very attached to our rigs after spending so much time and money building them. Axial changed lots of things to put the thought of buying and building again in our minds.

Based on all these new parts, if they are all coming in the RTR, I'm guessing 499 street price. There's no way an RTR with all the metal gears, Universals, etc will cost 349 to 399.

I heard there is a new radio. Is there a new radio?

IF there was a new radio do you think it would be anything you'd want?

I'd like them to include a radio with an extra channel on it. It'd be great for the guys that want to add a winch later on.

Preordered mine. Threw $2 worth of hardware on the order to get $35 off. $317 shipped. That's not too bad for a kit I guess. I had to have one either way. ETA early June, hoping that happens.

Kit good. Price bad. At least $25 too high.

OK first guy to complain about the price ^^^^ LOL

How can you determine that the price is too high? We really don't even know what the kit consists of as of yet to really make that determination.

I remember when RC10 kits were $250 in the 80's! THAT was high.

And they didn't have licensed bodies and a bunch of licensed molded accessory parts either. I think the prices for these kits are totally reasonable. Lots of time goes into the design work and people seem to forget that.

They obviously are not paying attention to the market. Everybody is building front motor trucks with divorced transfer cases like ToyZuki. Even HPI had this figured out before they went south. People are also downsizing parts and getting rid of weight so they can put it where they want. This is why that massive transmission makes absolutely no sense. Then there's the body. This body has been done to death in the RC world and 1:1 world. Most of us, except for the diehards, are sick of Jeeps. Axial needs to clean house and hire new engineers because this truck isn't good enough.
Did you ever consider that this re-design was engineered to be an evolution on an already great product, rather than a revolution? In regards to accuracy, there's a lot of plusses here that outweigh the minuses, whatever you perceive those to be. It's actually refreshing to see a company not try to completely re-invent the wheel, leave room for tinkerers and builders, while making a truck that's sure to perform very well bone-stock.

HPI's truck is vaporware, and while it had a divorced transfer case and a front mounted trans, what else did it have that this doesn't? Never mind it's an actual release.

Leaving room for the aftermarket is probably one of Axial's greatest strengths, so where you might see a flaw or shortcoming, the aftermarket guys are chomping at the bit to get started on new designs that will keep everyone employed!

There's a lot of good happening here (new axle designs, smaller pumpkins, CMS, revised chassis design, new wheels, tires, pretty robust trans with a lower CoG, front battery mount, universals, more steering) and I'm pretty excited to get my hands on one.

everything but that god aweful bulky transmission is awesome. call me crazy but i think it would have been a better rig with the 'old' scx tranny in there.

Just pre-ordered mine, $305 shipped. $45 off with Tower Super Savers Club discount code.

I will be selling the body straight away and using my Chinese hard body XJ instead.

That was my exact plan as well. Rethinking my shopping cart-only if it's less than $420
