So wait, this doesn't have a c channel frame anymore? I guess it's not a deal breaker but I do like c channel frames on my rc's.

I still run the heck out of my Ascender, but I will for sure be getting this new SCX10 II, been running Axial products since the AX10 Scorpion first came out and will continue to run Axial products.

Well, put me on the preorder train. I got a new radio while I was at it.

I have to speculate though, with most of the other SCX10s on backorder right now and with delivery dates about the same time as the II, do you think the existing RTRs are going to incorporate some of those updates?

Based on the 3rd/flex pic RPP has posted on their preorder page you can see thru the body from underneath out the windows so I do not believe there is an interior.

This pic & a few of the others makes it look like the 2 uses the same steel rails that came with the original. Like They just redesigned the cross braces, shock hoops, & sliders (as well as the other stuff).

I could be wrong, it's been known to happen. All I'm going on is that photo.

Anyone got any info on: if it is possible to shorten the axle width by cutting the tubes and shoving the universials further into the locker/spool? Like on the Ascender.

Have any of you seen the video from the release?
Looks like it crawls pretty well out of the box. (depending on what axial has done to it).
I will see if I can find it and put it on here or at least a link to it

I think it's way too soon to tell.

Of course that's possible. Anything's possible.

I dunno man, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
As far as the shape of the diff cover....Vaterra easily looks better but I bet the Axial will perform better and I like the high pinion design.

The video looks promising. Love the look of the new axles. Thanks for sharing Redemon.

So to clear up a lot. Yes it does have a c channel frame still. 12.3" wheelbase, axles are completely new design with completely different chubs and zero ackerman knuckles. Frame rails are pretty much same as old, so can use current skid and trans if wanted. They went into detail about the high pinion, helical design was to eliminate torque twist and from the video they showed it seemed to work. They touched on the point that they designed it how they did to keep it appealing to both new hobbyists and seasoned vets and to keep the price competitive. They couldn't make it like a fully built toyzuki or similar, because then they would lose the newb people that just walk into a shop and buy for the first time.to me they found a good happy medium for the market.

Edit: They also mentioned the aluminum links will have m4 rod ends, and a more firm plastic will be used for durability

What is it with a divorced tf-case that alienates newbs?

Ease of repair I guess. To the untrained eye a single unit that's easily accessible looks easier to remove for repairs/upgrades
