Hi all, Just got a pre-order email from Tower re the RTR SCX10 II which piqued my interest. Has anyone had a chance to have a decent look through and compare what is included and what is not? On initial inspection I noted the following differences: * Inclusion of RTR electronics - Tactic radio gear and servo, 35T motor (interesting they went away from the 27T of the original SCX RTR's), AE-5 ESC * Cut & painted body, same as the first release SCX10 II but without roof racks (perhaps included in the box?) * Steel suspension / steering links, not alloy, and thinner? * Standard plastic shocks vs the alloy icon ones * The biggest surprise (I had to do a couple of double takes and still would like someone more knowledgeable to double check) was what looks to be the original SCX gearbox / transmission instead of the newer SCX10 II style one. A cheaper alternative for the RTR or did they listen to the negative feedback of the newer design??? Very interested to hear people's opinions here. Did I miss anything? Cheers, Crouch |

@RTR version: Yup, Axial's site says AX10 transmission (32P), [Mr Burns] Iiiiinnteresting! [/Mr Burns] I wonder if the huge trans case in the kit version is a dead end, or will Axial still be releasing a two speed upgrade kit (anyone know?)? But the bodyshell, OMG! Looks like they sprayed the primer on and then forgot to put any color on it! |

IMO two speed transmissions in a crawler are a waste of money anyway. A good brushless setup will get you the crawling ability you want and tons of wheel speed. Plus its less weight, less crap to break/wear out, and less slop in the drivetrain. I kinda like the color. At least it isnt covered with cheesy graphics. | |

If it's shorter front-to-back, I'd wager it's different.

I make a 10.2 Currie axle servo mount that has been tested for about a year now and it's ready for sale. I'll try to get some pic posted shortly. |
