Better get that on your bench quick before it gets crushed by a bowling ball.

Now this is a build at a pace I can relate to.

If the next pictures are of your kids stealing the tires out of the box to claim them as toys or wearing the body like a hat then you may actually be living my life.

Wrong there friend. Still presumably full of truck bits.

OPENED BOX?! Slow down there cowboy. And I don't have kids, they're too... icky.

Spent the better part of this morning cutting through the first box seal.

It's nice to see a build thread with someone who hasn't already finished before making the first post. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has barely started.

I saw the creases on the box.

just kidding though. you should open one plastic bag at a time and take a picture. then screw by screw, part by part... take a picture.

good slow pace.

It looks a bit ridged to me. How's about a flex shot?

Nobody pointed out that Handicorn is printed all over the inside of the box. That's what you discover when you pour over the details and investigate every little part.

Also, I built the axles. I'm truly amazed at the reduction in size over all.

Even compared to an aftermarket option from SSD for the OG SCX10 axle, which greatly reduced the sizing overall, these new ones are downright miniscule. Sure, the Ascender axles are nearly the same, but there's something more accurate about the way these look to me. Plenty of strength too. This feels like new plastic. Very impressed.

They went together without issue, bearings in all the right places, proper angle on steering bits, no parts missing or any binding. Go slow and don't over tighten the screws that hold the diff cover on, if you do, the gears won't spin smoothly.

definitely new plastic. I bet it slides over rocks better than vaterras.

Assembled the links last night. Great to see 4mm hardware, stronger beveled end links and beefier rod ends. The diagrams are very easy to follow and should not give you much trouble. Do pay attention to which way the ball ends are installed as it does make a difference.

Wow, got a lot accomplished today.

Some folks were having issue getting the shock spring adjusters on. Simple fix, carve away some of the plastic from the top. Easy.

Gave the new Pit Bull shock oil a go.

Couple other things on the shocks. Bummer they're not the dual rate springs of yore - I really liked those shocks, and the Titanium Nitride pistons are gone from this kit as well. No matter, I'm sure to upgrade these down the road - the tradeoff is vastly outweighed by the rest of the awesome of this kit.

Really like the look of the new trans/transfer case combo. Obviously larger than the outgoing trans, but I think overall, because it's lower in the chassis and the weight is more evenly distributed, it shouldn't be an issue. Curious to see how it holds up to some brushless abuse.

One of the details I really like, and will definitely get used down the road, is the servo winch mount that they built into the chassis. Comp-oriented thinking makes me a happy guy.

That little thing towards the center of the photo is a routing tube for the winch line. So cool.

For now, because I wanted to keep it stock for testing purposes, I'm plopping an SSD Ox winch on the front. Had to drill some new holes as the mounting plate is larger. Axial left plenty of room for any number of winches to be mounted.

All done.

Fit and finish is great, there's a ton of nice detail work on a lot of the molded pieces, which adds another layer of realism. Attention to detail was definitely the name of the game. All in all, a very enjoyable kit to build. Nothing that threw me for a loop, nothing missing, and definitely a fun build. The tires may seem big, but for this body they're pretty proportionate. Smooth driveline, great steering, optimal weight balance, CMS, forward battery, room for a servo winch, new link geometry, smaller pumpkin axles, the list goes on. Can't wait to get the body finished, apply some power, and take it outside.

I like the red diff covers, but dulled/weathered them with a wash from Citadel that I had sitting around.

Well now, what's this?

I tried my Honcho body on it, it doesn't work. The cage & body has to be cut to work with the new trans.
