I'm in no particular hurry to test out the Hyrax tires...I am more than happy with the KLRs for now and they still have lot's of life left in them.

I love your build man, I think those wheels and tires are next on my list. I didn't see it in the thread but what servo horn are you using? The Axial one did not fit mine.

Thanxs 48jake!!! I don't recall the name of the servo horn I'm using and it doesn't have anything marked on it. It's a low-profile aluminum clamping horn I picked up from my LHS. Sorry, I wish I could remember.

The racers edge horns are working great for everyone including myself. Clears at full lock and no need to shim the servo up higher.

I also am using the racers edge servo horn, plenty of clearance!

You say that like a tire collector such as yourself has ever worn out a set of tires.

Hey Bill, what link end setup did you goto? Are you running incision or ssd links and what ends? Or did you just pop in metal balls with the stock link ends?

Thanks

I recently swapped out the four lower links with Vanquish Titanium links for improved "rock sliding"! All the rear links use Traxxas link ends, the front links use a combination of Traxxas link ends, Axial link ends with Traxxas metal balls and some stock Axial link ends with plastic balls because they are still tight.

Do the upper links not rub with the traxxas revo ends? The stock ends are bent to clear the skid. Just curious about binding issues.

Great build info Bill! Im putting one together for my daughter and noticed a few things with the rod ends. The revo's kinda fit. They have enough movement left in them but are held in place without freedom of movement. So far the axial ends with metal balls work the best. I haven't picked up any SSD ends yet but will. Keep up the great build brother

Another great run today with the 10.2. I still can't believe how stock I have kept it (compared to all my other rigs) and the performance is extraordinary.

It has taken some nasty tumbles and it simply shrugs them off and carries on like nothing happened.

A buddy had a truck out today with the new P-L Hyrax tires with stock supplied foams and they did a fantastic job, we played a fair bit of follow the leader and they certainly held their own with the KLR tires. After seeing this, I have to get some for myself now!!!

Today marked the day of the 1st annual Quak RC King of the Rock competition in Victoria, BC. Two class, 1.9 & 2.2. I brought my 1.9 SCX10.2 and my 2.2 Wroncho Bug.

When all was said and done my 10.2 got the best (lowest time) score and won the 1.9 class outright. My Wroncho Bug won best looking 2.2 rig. I walked away with a new pair of P-L 1.9 Flat Iron XL tires and a $30.00 gift certificate to Pro-Line. It was a great turnout accompanied by equally great weather.

Thanxs Quak RC for putting this event on and I look forward to more in the future.
