Finally, I've been waiting for you to get one... Judging by your RR10 threads, this should be awesome.

I won't bore everyone with the build because there's enough of those, but I will post anything that I do differently. Consensus says keep it stock....but I know myself, that won't happen!

Just be sure that when you're done, take it to the outings you and Nostopinluc do on YouTube. Those vids are really good..

At least run it stock so you can set a performance benchmark for yourself.

Glad to see you've got one!

Flipping transmission seemed to be beneficial.
Have fun!

I truly enjoyed following your Bomber build. And I agree leave it stock for a while, you will be surprised at the level of performance. I know I certainly was once I got used to mine. Welcome to the next generation. LOL

'Bout time slacker. Looking forward to seeing your version. What electronics are you planning? Wheels and tires?

No kidding eh? I was doing a Google search last week and noticed TCS Crawlers had one in stock...bought it immediately. Going to go with MMP, Tekin ROC 412 1800 kV, Holmes Hobbies HV400 Servo, CC 10a BEC. For now, 1.9 KLR silvers w/ Under 10 lb KLR foams with SSD 1.9" Steel Trail Beadlock Wheels (Silver). I need to pick up another set of 1.9 beadlocks because I want to use the stock BFG tires too.

That'll do. I mean, if you want it to move forward and reverse...

I like the 1800 kV motor, I can gear it higher or go 4S if I want more wheel speed....but I have plenty of other rigs that can shred tires with the stab of the throttle!

Not knocking you, I think that's a perfect choice! Forward, and reverse!

Making some progress...

Sounds like lots of folks are having the issue of the spur gear wobbling...but I have found the cure:

The first slipper plate does not have enough of a step (shelf) on the upper shaft therefore causing the plate to have enough room to wobble because it's not completely stabilized.

I added a washer to the shaft for the first metal slipper plate to tighten up against. Washer - 11.85mm OD / 5mm ID
I also used a bearing in the spur gear instead of the bushing, but this has no "bearing" on the wobble!
Then I used another washer (same size) up against the outside slipper plate before the spring.

Also, make sure the spring is straight when the outer Nyloc nut is tightened up. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to straighten the spring once the nut was snugged up.

I hooked up all of the electronics to do a bench test and the spur has zero wobble now. Prior to the washers, I could turn the spur by hand and see the wobble.

Open up those spur covers and add your washers now!

BTW, the upper shaft has a bit of play in and out, but that won't affect anything as long as the pinion is located on the motor shaft correctly so that there is always gear mesh without binding throughout the minor amount of in/out travel.

I have no doubt that will happen.

I will, but it won't last long!

Going to keep it in the stock position, I believe there's more pros than cons leaving it positioned the way Axial intended.

Sweet build. I like it because it is very original and different. The wheels are killer. Are you running beef patties on all 4 wheels?
