1ton's scx10II

Nothing to fancy, just box stock kit only changed the wheels and tires. I toss a set of Locked Up Rc 8 lug wheels with wideners and a set of Rc4wd Atturo Trail Blade MTs... the stock BFGs are nice but seem way to large to me... I'm running a 35t Novak Rockstar, Holmes Hobby Torquemaster esc, Hitech D950TW steering servo and spectrum rx. I was very lucky I got mine fairly early just haven't had time to work on them until today. I prepaid for 2 kits at my local hs and actually got 2 of the only 3 the received...Just need to do a little soldiering and bind it up in the morning.

A few pics side by side my well used Ascender... one of favorite rigs in my fleet...These are probably the most box stock rigs I own currently, If this new SCX10 performs as well as my Ascender does I'll be very very happy.

Thank you, the wheels are locked up rc parts. Can't remember the name but they are the newer ones that have an 8 lug hub similar to all the 6 lug wheels. I have a set of wideners installed on them too. I really like them, my Ascender has locked up rc wheels as well.

Well... my ascender is by far my most used rc in my fleet and I have a very large fleet lol. Honestly haven't had time to take my new sxc10v2 out for more than 5-10 min yet, but I think it will give my ascender a run for it's money... I'll let you know more maybe even this weekend.

Added a few more goodies to the new rig. Put and Rc4wd Warn 9.5 mini winch, some hot racing d-rings and a Vanquish led light bar... trying to get out and get this thing dirty tomorrow...

What's the size of the led light bar and how did you mount it? a close up pic of the mount would be helpful. nice set up by the way!!

Awesome build! I have those same tires. The trail blades look so good on that rig. Much more scale looking.

I bought a few VP goodies for my scx10.2 a bit ago and installed them. I didn't get a chance to test them yet until tonight... I took it out for maybe 5 min and I think I broke the front pinion or ring gear... it's suddenly binding and popping just like my old scx10 did when it's diff gears/bearings failed... If I get time tomorrow I'll pull it apart and see just what's happened... too bad the parts I'll need will likely be on back order.

Xtra speed just released some pinion and ring gears recently. Check ebay they are like $18 or so

How do you like the trail blades? Could you post a picture of them next to the gladiators for size? I'm running glads on my truck currently and was looking for some different options around that size

Interesting. I took my axle apart and found the pinion was actually hitting the stock locker... the gears and bearings looked great still. I cleaned it all up and just shimmed it and so far so good.
