| RTR on 3 cell
Do you think it would be okay to run the stock electronics on 3 cell without a bec or will I kill the servo? Thanks |

Yes you can, the servo is getting its voltage from the rx, which comes from the esc bec. The stock electronics are good for 3s. I am running stock rtr on 3s and there are no issues

e.g. my ESC (not a RTR one) will provice 2A max. to the servo on 2S, and 1.5A max. on 3S. When both the motor and the servo require high current, it could occur that the motor draws the amps away from the servo. I think this is why most people prefer to use a BEC. I doubt you will be able to fry a servo without a BEC, but you could see decreased performance, or maybe the overcurrent protection kicking in? Not 100% sure on the details.

http://www.axialracing.com/blog_posts/1073910280 And also the spec sheet http://docs.axialracing.com/instruct...Drag_Brake.pdf I have five different ae5 trucks with various types of servos in use. All run 3s without any problems.... as advertised by Axial I am sorry if being the party poop, but I think it is rather obvious that the esc works according to the specs. I have that much faith in Axial. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Last edited by tjohanne; 09-27-2016 at 06:01 AM.
