If your willing to cough up the $150 price tag you can get some stock take off axles from ebay

I am, they're just not available right now, nor at RPP salvage yard. I didn't need a pair the last 4 weeks I saw them. I'm patient.....kinda. If Axial would pull their head out of their ass and release the fu€£!ng ring and pinion, I could build my own. Too much to ask for that final piece to be released.

Great new chassis Toyzuki! Those plastic gear covers are very nice, printed, moulded, machined or? Where I run, those gear covers would be required.

The nuts are actually spreading the G10 plate apart where they are pressed in and I did hear some cracking as they were going in. I tried working them in by hand using the installed screw as leverage but there was no way those were going in without significant force.
Looks like a little miniature hand file, sandpaper rolled up, or Dremel work would have clearanced the G10 just enough for the nuts to go in snug without cracking the G10. Either way a couple drops of E6000 around the nuts after installation will help hold them in if and when you disassemble for maintenance etc.

I love 550 motors when I can fit them into a build, so much more torque and good RPMs on 3S or more.

EDIT: I see in another thread, that the gear case covers look printed. Gray Matter Laboratory welded bumper looks the shiz too. GML sliders next?

Yeah Performance 3D Solutions on FB is where I ordered my 3D printed gear covers. I think Fr8cture got his from the same guy. I agree that they are mandatory.

I have contacted Aaron at GML and he's ready to make me some sliders and bumpers. His work looks fantastic from some of the customers rides that I've seen and he also works with stainless which is awesome. This build of mine is gonna be my best yet.

Got my Performance 3D Solutions gearbox covers in. Plenty of installed pics so here's what they look like by themselves. Excellent resolution and very close tolerances on the parts help to seal everything up nice and tight. IMO these are must have.

Love the green, and great to hear the quality is good because I've gotten some printed parts that were not very nice looking from another company.

Wanted to start installing links tonight but discovered that Traxxas Revo 5347 hollow balls won't fit because they are too wide. I then tried a narrower hollow ball from a Traxxas 2742 rod end and it fit but was a little loose. Ben, can you tell us which rod end and hollow ball the skid was designed to use? Thanks.

Revo fit, it's a tight fit but it fits. It's designed to have no slop. Try pushing them in from the top.
