| Nosser's 85 Toyota SR5 10.2
So this is my first thread on RCcrawler. I've been a member for a while and just recently got back into rc. I used to race 1/10 scale on road and 1/8 scale gas but that was many years ago. My kids are taking an interest into rc so that's awesome for me. My daughter got hooked with my losi micros and we got Orlando hunters now too. I also have a losi Ltrails mrc with an old Nikko Toyota body that she has been driving around. Need a new project so I bought a roller off eBay. I was originally buying scx10 axles and a chassis to build one but found this. I need wheels, tires and a body. I have some electronics. I know I want the proline toyota sr5. For tires I was thinking TSL SX or the rock beast and wheels I am undecided. Any suggestions on wheels/tires? and for fun my tamiyas.. Last edited by nosser; 04-07-2017 at 12:16 AM. Reason: rename |

I'm going to use a qc 1060 esc and a titan 550 that I had laying around until I can decide if I want to go brushless or just stay brushed with a HH crawlmaster 540. I was having some glitching issues so I ordered a CC BEC that should be coming in today, along with so other fun goodies. also worked on the body a bit Last edited by nosser; 11-17-2016 at 01:53 PM. I like the wheel/tire combo. Should look good on your truck! I struggled with the brushed/brushless decision too. I bought a MMP for dirt cheap so went with that and just a Tekin 35T motor for now. Gives me the opportunity to upgrade to brushless in the future if I want, or if I decide I actually need it. Sent from my SM-N920W8 |

here's an update on how he looks now. I still am going to paint the bed and take care of all the little details, and I'm waiting for my magnets to arrive so I can mount the body. Not sure how I feel about the color. I wanted it a bit darker but it's ok for now. Last edited by nosser; 11-18-2016 at 01:04 PM. | |

| Re: Nosser's SCX10.2 Thanks, yeah I like the body but I see a mojave 4 door body in my future. I did paint he body on the outside. I wanted a more flat matte look but it didn't come out as dark as I would have liked. And yup on the username! Didn't realize the background. |

| Re: Nosser's SCX10.2 Right now nothing. The blue NOS bottles have been a few cars mostly all nissans tho. The NX was in a Nissan 350z. Went 11.9 in a quarter. Sold the z and I really want to find a Datsun 510 as a fun project. I thought about throwing the nitrous kit in my daily. It's a g37 sedan, there no need to but it would be kinda fun.

I received a 3D grill and light buckets from Chris and I made light buckets for the turn signals. I need find a better orange for the turn signals. The paint just looks yellow. Also threw on tf2 bumpers but I am going to try to make one. I'm gonna pick up a kit to braze but may wait until after the holidays. |

Took my crawler out for the first time ever. I mean I've never took a crawler out on the rocks. Most of my crawler stuff is micro so I learned a few things today. I think it did pretty well stock though. My grill and light buckets fell out on its first tumble. It rolled about 4ft down the rocks lol. I also need to find a better way to mount the body since the magnets are weak. My kids were running the media so I didn't get much. Either the picture was blurry or the video gave me a headache watching it. They're 7 and 10 and it was their first time so I'll let it slide. I going to find a new solution to the mount the body and I want to lower it more. Is Shoegoo or a hot glue gun better to secure the light buckets and grill to the lexan? Also anyone use Gmade XD shocks? I'm thinking of some 75mm ones for the rear and I want to drop the bed. I have some ideas. Or I maybe I should just buy a Mojave 4 door or lc80 body. |

Nice project. Can you post a good close-up picture of your grill?

Nice. I really like this body and have considered using it for a Honcho build; but, I won't do it with stickers. Your grill looks great.

Finally took some pictures it. Still only used my phone though. Not much done to it yet but I dropped the bed with styrene. A real simple box. Never really worked with the stuff. May redo it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
