Post SCX10ii Kit Max spur size (non-stock)

After a little testing...
The lowest ratio i could get was a 56/11 (5.09) on the stock spur.
If you remove the spur gear cover/backplate you can swap out the stock 56t spur to something larger.

The Associated SC10 4x4 spurs are 32p and available in a few more sizes.
The will require the AE slipper pads.
# 91170 "high torque slipper pads"
# 91096 is a 58t spur
# 91095 is a 60t spur
I have a 62 tooth, but I wasn't going to shoe horn it in there.

The larger spur allows me to go to a 10t pinion too.
58/10 = 5.8 ratio
60/10 = 6.0 ratio
I can now gear down my mid level KV motors for better crawling, and more torque (that I do not need)

This can equate to about 15% reduction in overall drive speed.

I don't run a gear cover, rocks, grass & dirt just fall through the teeth, but is a little noisy.

For the record, 3300kv on a 3s geared 60/10 is still a lot too fast.

To answer a recent question:
The best I recall the 56/11 worked, but was a touch loose in mesh but, not dangerous.
It didn't require any cutting or grinding.
Currently the Tenshock 906 1750kv on 3s has been the motor of choice & the Castle Mamba Micro X makes it ultra smooth.

Thanks for updating this.

I'm hoping to gear my SCX10 II Kit trans low enough that high gear can still be used for some crawling related stuff, rather than just on the flat

When you ran the 60 and 58t Associated spurs, did you need to do any drilling and if so, hot did you mark it? I notice it has markings for 4 holes, but the SCX10 II trans only uses 3.

The spurs slide right on with the proper fitting slipper pads.
I have not used them with a slipper lockout hub.
There are no bolts the spur is sandwiched between the clutch plates & center on the input shaft.
