Man
You have once again showed out.
Love the build
Im so ready to see how you build your LC70.

Im also interested in see how you routed your winch line and how you installed your servo winch.
Axial has kinda dropped the ball on that part.
They offer the servo spools now but have no info anywhere on them and how to properly use them.

Yep, here you go:

It's pretty simple. Lots of room from the servo winch location, and the winch line will run parallel to the steering servo on the side and then through the routing tube and out the fairlead. No hangups!

You really ought to just loctite as the recommend. Or go with a solid one-piece. That works too.

Thanks very much. 70's slow going, got so many other builds that have to take priority, but it will get done. For the servo winch mount, it's all pretty straight ahead, use the servo mounts they include, screw them down and route your line through the included router. Easy!

Not quite yet, there's a few bits coming in the mail that will certainly make this a pretty cool truck.

Glad I can help inspire!

The next piece of the puzzle arrived today.

Big thanks to James at Knight Customs for the pre-release testing of the engine cover. Detail is incredible folks.

You definitely should!

The fit and finish is just awesome. I cannot wait to get this painted and detailed. Obviously, I also got James' hood opening kit to go with this.

Stoked!

I'm just going to quit trying and RC vicariously through your build and (hopefully) videos to come of the performance of this beast!

Hi,

This is from post #1; "There's also a metal skid plate there, from I can't remember who"
I would like to know who made it, and what it is made of? Steel or aluminum?

Thank You, for your time and help.

It's this one from AMF, and it's aluminum.

The hood has been cut out and hood support added. I started priming the engine bits and will get to detailing shortly.

Trying out these high-mass steering knuckles as well. Provided they're legal for C2. If they aren't, I'll paint them silver so they blend in better for cheating.

Will the 22-R be on shapeways soon? Mr.James really nailed it with those bumpers and fitments so far for the SR5. Though that material is kinda weak, it was fine for the grill, but could have used something better for the rollbar and bumpers.. jmo. Anyway a 2jz-gte printed one would be pretty rightous in there also!

How does the hinge work? How are you going to hold the hood in place?

It should be there soon. James is working out some final details and instructions. My real-world feedback is that it's the tits. Told him so.

Thanks guys, I'm ashamed to say they're from Hot Racing. 46grams, or 1.6 American ounces. You can get them here (they're out of stock ATM): https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/hotscxt21hm.htm

I'd prefer to keep it all Vanquish here, but need to get more weight over the front axle, and this seemed like a nice stop-gap solution. Hopefully they'll offer something heavier in the future. Just speculating.

This morning, I got up and said to myself, let's make something more accurate. So I did this:

There's a little attachment that comes with the frame that gets glued on top of the firewall. Very easy. Minor cuts required on the prototype, but James tells me that the new firewall will have the bits already cut out.

Tabs go on top of the hinge.

Right on.. I was hoping it'd be made from a rod end or something serviceable in case it breaks in a rollover.. can't be buying one Everytime there's an accident..
