Hot Racing Aluminum Axle Case For The SCX10 II
I would like to try them and there under $90.oo each.

Hot Racing makes a lot of other upgrades for the SCX10 II also.

Re: Hot Racing Axial SCX10 II Axle Case

For $89/each, I would rather just buy Curries.

Add in link mounts, lockouts, & c hubs (to make a fair comparison), the Curries end up the same price or cheaper.

The Xtra Speed housings are probably as well made as the HR versions for nearly $70 less per housing.

I don't see a market for these. As svt stated, they're really not much cheaper than the Curries, and quality/looks isn't even a conversation. Most will either buy the Xtra speed ones or Curries, or keep plastic.

Hot racing really missed the mark on these.

Re: Hot Racing Axial SCX10 II Axle Case

I have to agree with everyone else, Hot Racing is selling these at too high of a price point when you take into account the eventual need to replace the C-Hubs, Link Mounts and Lockouts if your doing front and rear. Curries have all of that built into their Axles for roughly $25 more, once you wind up buying all the parts to get them where the Curries are you wind up more expensive on the HR ones if you go full aluminum from a reputable company.

I know your all sportive of the products that support this site & Hot Racing is not one of them.
A commercialized site now not for alliterative products that are out there that maybe just as good.
Can fool the newbies but not the old timers that do there research on new products in the hobby.
You can band me from this site for suggesting alliterative products that are out there.
There are other Scaler Sites out there that are supportive of all new products out there.
Like this site used to be years ago.
Yes I know it takes lots of money to keep a good site running but where do you cross the line ?
And why to I have to pay $20.oo Just To Sell something on this site ?
Not leaving the site or want any bad feeling of what I have wrought.

This has nothing to do with fanboi issues.
Comparing similar to similar, the hot racing axles are more expensive than the fancy vanquish axles.

You don't have to pay, you have to meet the requirements.

Looking at the photos they have machined the diff housing and cast axle tubes (not machined).

Are the diffs bigger? They look about the same size to me, but with a different shape.

The probably had to make the housing bigger to accommodate the hardware for holding on the diff cover from the front side.

I was more thinking the bearing caps that made the difference in size.

Yeah, uhh, what? People are comparing price's to get one item vs another item that as far as everyone call tell is superior. I really haven't seen anyone really saying Don't go buy HR because they suck, all I have seen is people saying one is more expensive than another and has better build quality. Also if you want to talk commercialized, HR is more Commercialized than VP. VP is a smaller outfit with less parts than HR, HR has more or less parts for darn near every vehicle so that makes it appear that HR is most likely more commercialized than VP honestly.

Personally I run their OG SCX10 Transmission in my 10.2 RTR. Have yet to have any issues with it.

Definition of commercialize
commercialized; commercializing
transitive verb
1
a : to manage on a business basis for profit
b : to develop commerce in
2
: to exploit for profit <commercialize Christmas>
3
: to debase in quality for more profit

According to that Definition Any Company in Existence is commercialized to a certain extent. Considering I do not know any company that can stay running that isn't doing business for a Profit, other than Non-Profit organizations that is.
