Default My LC70 Build

Hi all

Starting my first crawler build with a new RTR SCX10.2 coupled with the hot Killerbody LC70 body.

First on the list is to get the body lower but the stock shocks seem to be limiting how low i can go. Ive see a few people with what looked like a lowered setup.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas

Will update this thread as i get into it.

You can buy shorter shocks or you can install internal limiters in your shocks to drop the height.

I think you should also invest in smaller tires. Those are too large for that body. You will have lots of body rub because the wheel wells are small and those tires are massive.

I completely agree with Jato. Tires are way too big. I faced the same problem on my build, went with the original size 1.9 Rock Beasts and it makes a difference.

I also had my ride height too tall for my liking. I limited the shocks 5mm internally to essentially drop them to 85mm shocks and I'm more than happy with the result. This truck goes anywhere!

The Pro-Line 1.9 Super Swamper TSL in non XL form, is another great option. Not too big and not too small 4.35 in. compared to a lot of the 1.9 XL variants that are mostly 4.75 in.

Cheers mate

Just looking at tyres etc now

Managed to get the body lowered on the weekend, needed to put together some lower shock towers for the rear, thats already made a big difference.

I've now got rubbing at the front though, desperately need some new tyres

Thinking about the G-made SR03 wheels

Any other reccomendaitons on wheels much appreciated, i wish the K02's were a bit smaller, really like the look of them.

I think the SR-03s would be a perfect match for this truck

Run the Prolines then. Way better tire anyways, a little smaller, and very scale. The compound is much softer and sticker than Axials too.

Here's a comparison photo I took:

After staring at a few options decided I'd go a set of the 1.55 Boom Racing Yota's with the 1.55 Pitbull Growlers

Should look pretty good on the LC I reckon.

Can you measure the offset on the Boom Racing Yota's?

1.55's seem to fit this body a load better. Here's mine on a Trailfinder2, stock rims and mud grabbers (had to fiddle a bit to get it as low as possible).

I'm guessing you're having the most issues with the rear shock hoops. You might want to look for a cantilever shock setup for the rear on the 10-2, the rear bed really needs to sit on the frame rails, for which the 1.55's will help a lot (doubt it'll work with 1.9's).

Dinky link cantilever system for the rear! It's what I'm doing with mine on a scx10 1.0 and the bed sits flush

They are out of stock everywhere. Do you know where you can get the cantilever setup?
