Ah figured out how to add photos! Yew! we're away. Here's the box. No big deal but always feels good to open a new toy!

I picked these tools based on the fact that the hobby shop used the same ones. Not disappointed at all.

Plastic wheels meh, time to go shopping, but first let's build something!

Wow super great quality! Really looks the part too. Instructions are really easy to follow, love the realism and building yourself.

Tranny

Greased and assembled. As an after thought I think I could have put more grease into the scx10ii transmission. Thoughts anyone?

So nice, feeling satisfied. Time to watch top gear.

What is that! Can anyone 3D print a 80s Mercedes RC Crawler?

Default 2000 Cherokee Beater Build

Bought some sweet stuff to with and operate this crawler! Also totally skipped the wheel weight section. I weighted the custom wheels with sticky weight, i could do a post later because I need more and I'm hooked!!

Some of the parts listed.
Standard servo
Hitec x1 mini charger
Lectron pro 7.4V 5200mAh 35C battery
Teenitor lipo safe charger cover
Tactic TTX300 controller.

so going for a paint job that looks like it has been painted over (very poorly). Like it used to be yellow but it was painted red and a bad Matt black hood for good measure. I have apples the salt technique from some modeling blogs to give it that cracked sun weathered paint job. There is going to be lots of layers. Started with the black hood with the salt (hairspray to hold salt in place). Apply, dry repeat then scratch out the salt to get the effect.

Onto the body with more salt technique.

Oh yeah and I want to paint a door like it was replaced by a door from a different color jeep so I taped one of them out. Btw I picked up these colors cheap as the hobby store was changing our brand. Partly why I went this way.

Pretty happy with the result but it too shiny for a beater and it needs some scale accessories to make it look real.

Onto the interior!

This clear coat will take away the shine on the lexan body and make look more like a Matt finish. Tape up the outside windows and apply to the outside. This can't be undone so be sure it's what you want to do. Here is the result.

INTERIOR!! I have been inspired by so many of your posts and thank you for getting me back into this hobby (I had a hornet and grasshopper 30 years ago).
Taped up sections on the pro line

Painted underside!

What I'm trying to convey here is the excess in taping. I really love the fact with tape you can paint one detail as you please.

Increased tape removal and boom interior. Sooo much fun zoning out on where I think the colors should be. Never owned or been in a jeep so purists sorry if I messed it up. No preference on the dude just the cheapest 1:10 scale action figure for sale. Would have got the lady one but my wife was looking at me funny.

Great job So you haven't built anything since the Frog? Look out boys; I see another build coming soon...I'd like to see your take on a Trx 4 since you have the industry standard build out of the way

On the weather paint, is it on the inside or exterior? Did you do paint, salt , hair spray or salt, hair spray paint?
