The scale hardware really tops them off.

That's good to know the 1.55" PB are taller then 3.85". How tall are they?

I measured them right at 4” on my 1.9’s using stock foams that were trimmed to fit the 1.9 beadlock ring. Id say they’d be similar to that on a 1.55 as well.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve worked on this truck and I finally got some time / motivation this weekend to get some things done.

I was trying to figure out how I was going to bend the trim for the front fender. I tried heating the styrene strips but nothing seemed to work, so I went and bought some flat sheets and cut the shapes out instead. This was probably the better way to do it anyways.

I then painted the grille up, I opted for a whole black center section on this truck. I’ve seen them many different ways but liked this scheme the best for this truck:

I detailed up the dash and got it assembled:

Then I glued / screwed a bunch of it together and came up with this. I am a happy camper!

Lots left to do, including installing the interior, fabbing up a rear window, finishing the tailgate, installing / connecting all the electronics, and a few other odds and ends. Feels good to make some progress though and I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.

Nice build, I have the Axial 27t on my SCX10.2 but will look into the Traxxas Titan 21t.

That K10 looks killer! Love the detail on the grill and dash.

Small update today. I wasn’t sure how I was going to keep the interior black without it looking like I just didn’t feel like painting the black plastic. So I ended up painting everything with a matte black finish, then I weathered it a little bit. I was then was able to install the interior carpet, so it looks a little better.

Ended up getting a few more hours in tonight! First order of business was the rear window. I cut out the silver trim from a flat sheet of styrene, and made the vertical bars for the split window. I then cut out the glass from a sheet of polystyrene and tinted it using Tamiya Smoke.

I was then able to finish mounting the interior (seats/floor).

Once that was in I cleaned up the LED wiring using some retainers I found at a local hardware store.

I am really liking this Spektrum servo. I was able to purchase a longer wiring harness to avoid using an extension, which are a simple plug-and-play deal. Very nice and clean!

I used another retainer on top of the transfer case, it was a perfect little spot for it.

Then was the nerve racking part of making sure the body fit. I tested it before paint but there always seems to be some kind of obstacle, which of course there was but luckily it was a minor and easy fix. Body is now mounted!

All I need to do now is mount some scale accessories, finish some wiring and then get it outside for some better photos. I’m loving the way it’s turning out, it’s exactly what I wanted.

I think it’ll sit between the grill and the servo up front, hoping my inner fenders still fit. I only run 3S 2200mah packs so it’ll fit somewhere.

Painted the inner fenders on the outside, and used rubberized undercoating on the insides. These fit great and allow me to still run the battery pack between the servo and the grill!

I had some time tonight to finish this truck up, and I’m so, SO happy with how it turned out, I can’t wait to get it out on the trails!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to read through my build thread, like, comment and provide feedback. I hope you enjoyed this one!

Thank you! Weathering is kinda my thing. I don’t trust myself to keep a paint job nice, so if I make it look like junk right off the bat, I don’t have to worry about it as much!!

Ha... I hear you on the not having to worry about the paint job. I've been watching the thread to get ideas on my k10 build, long way to go yet but its getting there.

The crack at the door handle puts it over the top! Got my Blazer body in the box still... Have to get started at some point... Your build is definitely inspiring

Looks great and so well thought out. I like the simple electronics, just 2 wires running from the battery to the starter solenoid

What did you use for the fender wells?
