No the tubes can't be clocked due to the screws holes being in different positions.

All different tube options are being considered...

We (SSD/other vendors) could make these fit any truck.

Are the tubes cast aluminum? Anything in steel coming?

The tubes are cast heavy alloy, not aluminium. We could probably CNC some steel tubes but cost may be high also.

BTW Nobody makes phat/steel axle cases (even if they claim they do on their packaging).
If theirs is steel then so is ours lol

Got mine ordered last night from RPP. With the weekend 15% off coupon they came to $50 to my door. Not sure there is a better value on the market.

Assembled mine today and it can be done, however the end result is a small gap between the tubes and the center housing and you can only get two of the three screws in. Plus you lose a slight bit on shaft to locker engagement. I didn't care for it. This one isnt going to be a leaf rig, but it was it would be easy to make perches.

Got my pair of axles put together tonight. Also started mounting them on the build I wanted them for. I can say these are insanely nice axles. I love everything about them. Combined with all the other SSD goodies for these axles it's probably my favorite pair of axles I own right now. The build is straightforward. I went with the Boom Racing R&P because I like how the locker is keyed into the ring gear. Everything spins smoothly and I can't wait to put some power to these.

And yes, I realize the shock/link mounts in these pictures are on upside down. That was later fixed. I've never had AR44 axles before so I took a guess.

They look so good...

I have a very similar looking pile of parts here. Need to get a couple other things situated and I’ll be getting to these.

I got mine today as well. Love the look and the tubes do have a little weight to them. SSD quality is always been top notch so no issues there. I'll assemble them tomorrow and post some pics.

Anybody know the weight difference between these and stock axles?

I’m also curious if there are any plans for a axle mounted servo option? Doesn’t look like my UCFAB mount will work.

Think I'm going to use some m3 x 4&5mm grub screws in place of the button head screws for the tubes. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work and it would look better Imo. SSD probably went with button screws because the head acts as a stop to keep you from running the screws in too far.

I don't know if that's gonna work. Bottoming out the button heads on 3 axis keeps the tubes straight and perfectly perpendicular to the pumpkin. I noticed with uneven tightening there was some rub from the axle shafts and R&P tightness.

Could be fine though. At least worth a shot if you have the grubs around. I have some M3x7 grubs around I could grind down and use if it works out. Definitely post up your experience.

The tubes will end up working around in the housing and screwing up the center chunk. The button heads add friction to the assembly through clamping force on the center and don't rely on the threads to hold the pieces as a unit.

I left the top and inside buttons in and just swapped the outside to grubs for a better look. Scale hardware is an option as well.

I must say the fit and finish on these is really nice. The tubes, bearings and bearing caps fit nice and snug without being too tight. I was a little worried with the centers being plastic that the metal caps might pinch the bearings but they spin smooth as silk. For the price you can't get any better. Thx SSD!

Killer that they were only announced a short time ago and people already have them in their hands. They look awesome. I do believe I will be getting a set of these over the winter. I'm just going to wait to see what else they have in store for us and get everything at once.

Just ordered a set of the diamond style. Man SSD, you guys keep killing it with hits like these. I love your method of addressing the popular stuff we all want like hubs and knuckles, and the way you put your spin on it and improve little things like moving the pinch screw to the back of the hub. Genius I tell you. These axles are just another item in the long list of SSD must haves. I’ve said it before many times. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Waiting for a box from RPP full of SSD stuff. Hope to have them under my 10.2 for the comp at "rock island" this weekend.

Im curious looking at the Diamond Pro44 axle.... does the design allow the diff to be flipped inside the housing similar to AR60's?

Thanx!!
