Rear axle diff cover bolts So I'm very happy with my SCX10.2. It works even better than my K10 Ascender but it does have one thing that is bothering me. I like the hi pinion axles but I noticed in my backyard rock garden test track that the forward facing lower 2 bolts on the rear diff that hold the cover/bearing caps on tend to get hung up on rocks a lot. Has anybody had a similar situation and if so would they like to share what they did to help lesson that occurrence? I was thinking maybe some button head screws instead of the stock cap screws? |
Re: Rear axle diff cover bolts I was thinking that too... button heads. |

Re: Rear axle diff cover bolts Ok, since I already have SSD diff covers I decided to try the M2.6x18 button head screws. They were a little bit of a pain to locate as my first choice (mcmaster-carr) didn't have any. I searched Axial's website and apparently they are used on the 1/18 scale yeti and score. The part number is AX31491 and RPP has them in stock but there is a typo in the title as it says M2.6x1 which is why they don't come up in a google search. I will let you know how they work out. Thanks for the info guys! |
