Default SCX10 II Hard Body

Looking to get a new body. Would like to get a hard body. Anyone have any suggestions? If not was also looking maybe getting a set with a front cab and some sort of roll bars or rails in the back.

I think the D90 hardbody can be made into just about anything you can imagine. These are all the cheap Chinese copies off eBay, I have an original Rc4wd and they are identical.

I did a tundra high lift cab and honcho rear cage. Turned out alright.

Good looking rig and I agree you can do allot of things with that hardbody.

Just to set the record straight the RC4WD version is the copy not the Chinese version. That body was originally a static model that RC4WD build a rc out of. I only mention that for those who would worry about a Chinese copies quality.

RC4WD and the Chinese models have the exact same mold marks and probably come from the same factory. Currently there are several us seller with that body for under $40.00 shipped. Last one I ordered cost $27.00 shipped and showed up in 3 day. A few days latter it was a pickup.

The kid has been nagging me about a hard body, I think Im going to pick up another one, and nip and tuck the front and rear like that one you did.

The only issues with this body is the shorter wheel base, i had to take a little bit off the frame, and mounting it. Lots of ways to mount it, be I ended up ordering a mounting kit from overseas to ensure I lined up everything. Doing the next one I'd braze up mounts but at the time of my first body I didn't have the capability.

I'm sure it can be made to. When I get some time I plan on making one into a truggy

The Hilux cab is only marginally shorter than my tundra cab if you can believe that

Just drilled the hood to use the stock body posts. Makes it easy to access the battery.

Can anyone provide links for the places selling the bodies for under $40 shipped.
I'm not finding anything under $55 or more shipped.

I have always wanted to do a true hard body Hilux build. Even though the body itself can be had for cheap. It seems like you'd still be into it quite a bit because the grill, lights, mirrors, handles, trim, etc are all separate. If I am wrong, set me straight so that I can start building one of these. I have a Pro-line Hilux with an Ascender back; but, I'd really like a hard body Hilux for sure.

To stick with the post. Great info on the cheap D90 body. Does it come with all the trim pieces?
