The Scale Meet Project started 11/1/17 after hearing of some scale comps going on over the past summer. Was going to build a bomber over the winter but after the news I picked up a 10.2. Build, test, upgrade, fix and upgrade some more is the plan. I will be running as much as possible as I build for next year's gatherings. I could go on about the build and tell you how it went smooth other then this and that or I did this and that but honestly who really reads these things. Ok so to the pics and list, I'll update as things change.. Scx10.2 kit Savox 1256tg Quickrun 1060 esc RC4WD 35T motor 1.9 axial beadlocks 1.9 PL Hyrax 4.19 2x3s 1500 ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Last edited by TAT76; 11-12-2017 at 03:19 PM. |

Had a chance to run yesterday altho not the best area or conditions I was happy too. Seems to be pretty capable stock but have lots of work to get it meet ready. Stock tires blow as the just pack up acting like slicks and running 2s didn't have enough umf to clean out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

From what I've found, they had 4 over the summer in Polson and plan to make it even bigger next year. I remember a guy that mentioned it on 1 of our deep creek gatherings but never heard anything other then rumors Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk | |

I see you looking! I'm excited to announce the arrival of some parts, please welcome the new system and wheels to dress the Hyrax. With new found grip and pushing 3s I should get the support I need for those tough situations. Now to find time to install and get some run time.. Thanks for looking! ;) ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Got the Hyrax mounted up today and I love the tread but I'm not sure I like the look. Smaller then the stock but the tread should help with conditions. What's your thoughts on the Looks? Side note: I got out for a short run on my over grown home test track. Always good to get out and run non the less. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

I don't think you will have much in the way of axle clearance issues. THe SSD D60's on my F150 on the other hand are massive compared to your housings, I just have to watch tire placement going down the trail. 4.3" tires btw. Also you have seen my Twin Hammers go, with small tires... If you lower the body, the cherokee will look much more stockish. Last edited by lonleycreeper; 11-10-2017 at 10:35 AM. |

I would have to do to much body hacking to lower so that's not an option I'm willing to do at this time. Once I upgrade bumpers and sliders it maybe something to play with but I may have a few sets of tires by then. Lol Tomorrow I will be installing the new system running on 3s, then put on some miles to get the feel of how it handles the trail. Would like to tune the suspension but I think I need to get some time behind the wheel before going to far. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Got up and got in it this morning. New system went in without any issues and lights seem to work. I decided not to hard wired motor to 1060 so I can swap out easily in the field if needed. After the bench test I took off to my local play area and put a few miles in. Ok only 1 but she ran the whole thing. ;) 35t on 3s I feel is the perfect combo. Runs smooth, cool and has plunty of speed if needed. The tires work very well but the size bugs me so I will be swapping at some point before spring. I need to work on the shocks, they leak but do perform well so I'll see if I can fix the leaking as I tune them to my driving. Truck just works. Really I don't see much needed other then getting weight low and cosmetic items. 2 the pics.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Today's adventure was up at blue mountain on an old hiking trail. Love finding game trails and exploring. Mostly trail with lots of branches that hung your axles up making some areas very challenging. Spent 3.5 hours running the area and can't wait to hit it again. Have lots of clean up to do this week, tear down and rebuild. ![]() Thanks for looking.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Well clean up is finished after a tear down. Along with I rebuilt shocks changing oils to 40r/35f. Will see how that works compared to the stock fluids but I have a feeling half way threw my run I'll be running an air mix as these seem to leak more then any others I've built. ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Fenders installed and rear chassis plate I made to help keep dirt out. Did some dirt work to the body to make it look like it's got mud spots. Lol Not sure it worked but I don't think it's bad. Ready for the trail and weather looks like it's going to be good enough to crawl. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Had a great time meeting the crawler crew today. It's an hour drive one way but worth it so I'll be looking forward to the next gathering and can't wait for next year's events. This really gets me motivated to get my truck dialed and my skills up. Today my truck worked pretty good but I had some issues. These short 4.19 Hyrax tires held me back on alot of areas. Sometimes you can't pick a different line and having all the clearance is a bonus of bigger tires still in 1.9 size, I will be swapping asap. Stock bumpers are a joke. They stick out a mile and seem to catch on everything either on approach or coming off an object. New inner fenders are great but stiff so rubbing body can get tricky in stops when fenders don't flex. Last my body got trashed on the rocks. ![]() I trimmed some lugs off the stock bfg and will be testing those tomorrow to see if the grip and clearance are workable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Went out on trail today to test out my changes. Shocks still suck and I'm irritated that axial gives crap in the kit. Trimmed tires performed better then stock form but still not what I would like. 2.5 hours of running today and I had a blast but once home I modded my bumpers. Cut and drilled front to get it back as far as I could and pushed rear in. Looks like I'll have better angles with less hang ups. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Happy turkey day crawler duuds.. Went out for s 2 hr tour this morning. Temps in the 40 but we've had lots of rain so really muddy. Truck is getting closer to my goal with the bumpers being refilled for a tighter fit. Huge difference crawling with less hang ups. Have some items in cart ready to buy but waiting to see if black Friday will bring me a better deal before I do. Have a fantastic day.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |
