Default Do I need spacers for Savox SW-1210SG

I plan on using a Savox SW-1210SG with my SCX10 II kit. I did a quick search and it appears this servo might be a bit too tall and might need spacers? Is that true? If so where do the spacers go? On the servo mounts themselves?

I plan on using a Vanquish 20mm servo horn with the Incision stainless steel link kit if that makes a difference.

Thanks

I was using a savox sw-0231 and had to add spacers. I just used some spare plastic rings off the parts trees, i also added a same spacer on the servo horn to keep steering parallel with panhard (to prevent bump steer)

I assume the spacers go between the servo mounts and chassis?

What happens if you don't use the spacers there?

I needed 2mm spacers for the proper clearance with an axial aluminum servo horn (which is pretty thick). I used aluminum link spacers, but there are many things you could use. Just slide them onto the screws between the servo "ears" and the servo mount on the chassis.

If you don't have the spacers, the servo horn may hit the panhard mount.

I went to my local true value store and bought about 50 nylon black washers/spacers that do the trick for a few bucks, I believe $.06 or $.07 each to be exact. I use em all over my rigs when I need to space something out. Here’s one next to an axial link spacer...

Anyway, I used a few of these to shim my servo.

So I did a bit of a marathon build yesterday and got to the servo. I used those servo wire routing tabs the manual had on top of the servo and put those between the servo and the chassis. They were about 2mm. However the top screw on the servo horn hits the chassis when wheels are turned all the way. So it appears the Vanquish servo horn is too thick. Anyone know if the Axial aluminum one is any thinner?

So I was playing it with it some more. I found that a 1mm spacer works best (I had some washers laying around that fit) along with a dremel to part of the panhard\shock mount. It hits the mount when going all the way to the end, so maybe I could dremel a little more. But at least it doesnt hit the frame or the mount near the hole.

Do any of the aluminum shock\panhard mounts provide more clearance?
