Holy cow that looks AMAZING! Awesome work! "thumsup" What issues does the printed diff cover have? It's funny to me that the paint is called Email Color. I don't understand that name. Are you supposed to paint your emails with it? LOL |

Yes, this color is meant to make your emails look nice Joking aside, I`m not sure about the right word for it, but it also is marked "emanel paint". I have read your thread about your issues with shapeways, which is interesting. I have also seen the thread about HP Multi Fusion and standard nylon versus hd nylon in "Tools and procedures". Maybe I should post some pics there, too. The diff guard was broken in one of the holes, another hole was opened and the overall feeling was grainy. I had printed another item in HD Nylon which turned out way better in form and finish. I have contacted shapeways about the issues. Their customer service was very fast and friendly, and they offered a reprint. We will see how this will turn out. Quote:

| Re: Customizing my SSD Pro44 axle Ha, thank you! Yes, I would really love to have the drum made from brass. On the other hand, this return spring is made of solid steel and it is below the axle, so it WILL bring weight low down |

Thank you, Sir! Yes, they do. Cool idea!! But I guess it isn`t really see-thru, even if the surfaces would be polished.

Little update, I put the axle under a chassis. As you can see the unmistakable rear crossmember, it is going to be a Land Rover:

Great! So on to some updates! I am a happy owner of a 3D printer now, so I can start printing my own designs at home now and don`t have to wait for delivery. Very time saving. Bad thing is - my 3D-printing-Kung-Fu is weak Started with a spring perch: And that is how it turned out. Tried different orientations, but either way didn`t work out: As I am eager to make progress and as I am to impatient for improving my 3D skills first, I pulled the design joker. So I went back to CAD and redesigned the perch into a multi piece part. Each segment can now be printed in its best orientation: Preparing the print: et voila:
