It looks nice, the only thing i don't like bout the axles,is that they are one piece, that means no upgrades for the c-hubs or the lockers.Other then that,it looks sweat.Radoi though, looks toygrade )))

I would think there will be a builders kit to follow. I hope so anyway. I like the axles myself. Bring on the Blazer!

Why not sell the Honcho body separate and use a new body for this release. Hell, or better yet no body and sell kits only. They’ve lost the RTR crowd by getting kicked in the nuts by Traxxas.

My theory,
They need that $330 RTR price point covered with something new & different than the aging Deadbolt. This way, they save the latest but not so greatest(new JK) for the $400 RTR price point & hopefully, the really latest & really greatest for a kit (fingers crossed for the ‘69 Blazer).

The only thing that doesn’t make sense is the all new axles. That’s a new mold, granted it will get a lot of use & it eliminates other parts trees as well. So , maybe over the long run it was a wise investment.

I have to say, I am in love with those axles. Integrated chubs and lockouts look much more scale and the rear allows for some brass lockout weights. But why not just release these axles month ago on the jeep model?

All this one piece stuff really shows Axial is on a cost cutting mission right now. Not a good thing.

Plastic gears, plastic links, and dog bones are also part of the cost cutting measures. A plastic Axial idler gear. They have to be kidding! We know that won't last long. And unless they improved their rubber links those things will pretzel in no time.

The wheels are the nicest looking Axial RTR wheels though.

If Axial keeps it up they'll be dead last in every competition not just Big Squid's.

Agreed. Although the body strikes me as more of a 01’ Yota mimic.

Also, I really thinks Axial cheaped out by not adding the spare, and only using dogbones and plastic links. At least the Cherokee had universals and metal links

I like the new bed and may pick one up if it’ll fit my old Honcho. Hate the rerun bumper, though.

Can I call Bull Shyte.

It isn't possible to average 1.9 mhp over 10.5 hours and only cover 9.68miles.

If axial's new honcho is as good as their math, we might have some issues.

Perhaps they were only using the actual running time in their average speed calculation? They mentioned needing to replace the plastic trans gears (go figure) and I am sure they took a break here and there. Either that, or they suck at math .

Perhaps due to the zig zag driving style, the car covered a lot more ground than the straight path of the trail itself? It comes out to under 20 Miles and one could imagine the truck covering a good bit of extra ground.

Anyhow, honcho looks great. My brother has the last one, mostly stock, and it’s srill fun to roll around.

I like the new axle housings but I think its an odd decision to have two different versions of AR44 going in production vehicles at the same time. Why not convert all 10.2s to that style? Hopefully the plastic links are stiffer than the old crap. They look thicker.

I'm looking forward to the K5. I hope they put the good stuff on it and not dogbones and plastic trans gears.

I'm excited to see a redo of the old honcho. Hate when companies do this but Atleast we have some new parts. ;)

This interests me, as it is a low-buck way to get the SCX-II and then add stuff as you need it.

Ive been thinking about getting a crawler but have been undecided, until yesterday when I saw the new Trail Honcho. I think it looks great.

Now just have to decide if I should sell my Yeti SCORE (kit version) to fund the new truck...
