Default UMG10 Build

I haven't had any axial in a couple years but decided to give the umg a try.

First thing I did while building the kit was to flip the trans. I had to make front brackets and trim the RX box a bit. I'm going to print a new set of sliders or cut the box off and use an axial RX box I have from my wraith parts.

I used a HH 27t and a 1080 ESC.

This is probably my favorite kit I have built. It has just about everything you need except accessories and a couple of upgrade for the 1 piece axles. It's nice not to have to make an interior from scratch. Also the bed is fantastic.

I decided to go a little bit different color than typically seen on a unimog but I like it. My Tonka truck. It looks so much like a tow truck I have thought about adding a boom.

I printed a stack and screwed it to the bed.

All ready for the maiden voyage.

Took it for a little spin in the back yard. Works fantastic.

Printed some inner fenders. Just need to paint them up and get them mounted.

I built one a while ago - probably the best equipped kit I've built from Axial.

Nice man! I really need to take mine out for a drive. I haven't even driven it yet! LOL. Are those inner fenders the same ones that the cherokee uses or did someone make a file specifically for the UMG?

Thanks. Those are the Cherokee ones. I'm going to have to trim the front because of the body mount system and it's just a hair wide on the rear.

Why flip the transmission?

Moves the weight forward. I'm a believer in adjusting the weight before adding weight.

Changed the tires. Really like the stock ones but I like these too.

Decided to change to a 12" wheel base. I modified the bed a little and put a set of high clearance rear links. Looks almost stock. Just need to do the rear drive shaft. With the trans flipped and the longer wheel base it should crawl fantastic.
