Default 20c LiPo too low for AE-5 ESC?

Greetings. New member of the forums as well as new SCX10.2 RTR owner The only battery i own right now is a 2s 3250mah 20C and the truck seems to run perfectly with it. However i was told that a 20C lipo is too low for the AE-5 ESC and it could fry it in the future. Is that true?

No.

20c ratig is the amount of amps the battery can discharge at once. so your 3250 is goo for 64-65 amps, constant, and my crawleres bound up only pull 25- 30 amps, depending on the motor. if you are running a 35 turn motor or so you will have no problems.

btw 3s is quite a bit more efficient. I run small 30 c flight packs 2200 mah, so 62 amps, with no problems.

Yes i use the stock 35t motor and i'll probably continue to use it for some time. It's good to know there is no problem I was actually thinking about buying a new 2s lipo but a 4000 or 5000 mah but i'll think about the 3s as well.

Any risk running a 3s 20c 4000 mah venom on the stock setup? Worth the performance benefit over a 2s 25c 5000 mah venom?

Should run fine, and you will see a noticable increase in performance for sure

I have found that higher C rated batteries last longer for me. After I use them I stick them on the charger and put them in storage mode. I use 3 cell lipo's in most of my trucks.

Traulus, that wasn't because of 20C.
A 5000mAh 20C pack is rated for more current than, say, a 1800mAh 50C pack.

Makes sense that higher rated packs last longer, they're more expensive and made to tighter tolerances.

50% more voltage equals 50% more speed.
