I didn't get a chance to post any comparison pics last evening. I did find time to look through some stuff and I failed to locate a 350 cab. I did find a bed side though. I am an old guy (41) and had to do yard work at the house instead of play...

Some progress today. . Mounted up the bed to chassis separate from cab. Took 2 trys..1st try, the bed wasn't centered over the axle. 2nd try was alot better.. brackets are L brackets from orchard supply. .. going to use a thin sheet of aluminum for the bed floor. Still got to cut out for fender wells. Dont know how im gonna make those yet. Also not sure if I want to go up on the bed or down on the cab to make body lines line up..still trying to figure out how to mount up cab. Maybe use the magnet method with some type of alignment dowl so its straight Everytime. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk Last edited by wcdfmt510; 06-14-2018 at 08:07 PM. |

Been a while since ive done anything with this rig. Had to move, and new baby a couple weeks away. Slowly getting back to it. Looking into a Jewelers torch so I can fab my own spare tire carrier and sliders and whatever else that will work.. never brazed before and watched some videos... Is there anything else that is cheaper than the Harris safety silv stuff? They things I plan on making do not need to be indestructible. Basically just need to hold together. And what's good material to use besides brake line Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk |

So since my son wants a scx10ii deadbolt I'm gonna tear down the trail honcho and Rob it of the drivetrain and put it in my f350. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk |

Did a little work tonight. Tore down the hon honcho axle internals and transmission. put into the f350. Stock rtr front drive shaft fit. Need about a 8in lock rear shaft. I have to relocate the rear bed mounts forward a slight bit. Cab is just sitting on the frame/sliders. Had to get a flex shot. Front tires clear pretty good. Just got to trim the rear portion of the fender and the bumper a little to clear lock to lock Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk |

you can easily get the bed level w/ the cab if you put spacers under bed. That will clean the look nicely.

I know. I got to relocate to bed mounts. Didn't measure correctly. Bed has to go forward and up a little. Debating on trying some RC fuel tubing I have to act a spacers and a more scale 1;1 "rubber" type mounts. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

To cut up the honcho frame for the rear 4in rear section or to just buy a eBay chassis and cut up($1 Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk |

I just ordered a narrow arb style front bumper from loops RC. Next I will be ordering 2 rear arb bumpers from them. 2 because I made the bed square and it's a little wider than the stock width bumpers. Also after I get the bed all done try to figure out how I mount up a hitch receiver.. Will get more pics of the bed soon. It's 3 sheets of .030 styrene and a .040 sheet of steel as the bed floor. I still need to figure out and build wheel wells and tailgate, bumper and the taillights. As for the cab, debating on a roof rack with 4" vp rigid lightbar. Maybe a 2"vp rigid lightbar on the front bumper Don't know what lighting I will be using for headlights, turn signals, taillights and fogz. As for the chassis. Weld up the frame rails and extensions. Debating on leaving 4 link or going leafs in front.. need a rc4wd ultra scale 7-8" driveshaft (none in stock anywhere) RC4WD HELP I NEED 1! Maybe get some leaf spring blocks. It's sitting on the stock 90mm shocks now with 4.7 tall tires. Need to either lift it or smaller tires.. There's alot more I'm leaving out cuz I can't think right now Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk Last edited by wcdfmt510; 07-30-2018 at 10:12 PM. | |

Thanks. Ya. I used to make links like this back in the day when I had a og scx10 Chevy truggy. I'll look for pics. Back then I just used aluminum tubing. I wanted to do brass tubing to be different.. the thing I found with the brass tubing is you need to apply a couple coats of clear coat to it so they stay shinny. I'll probably redo them. I saw some axial ss links on rpp for like $6@ pair. And slide some brass tubing over those.Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
