| Boom Racing SWB Tamiya Bronco
This is the first crawler I have built, started out intending to use it for a Sand Scorcher build but went another way with that one so here is the build for the Bronco. The Boom Racing kit does not include instructions so if anyone decides to use it maybe these pictures will help. Hope to get it out on the trail soon. I spent many hours on these boards to decide what to use, thanks to the many builders who shared their builds! What I used to build it: Axial SCX10II Raw Builders kit Boom Racing SWB kit Hobbywing Quicrun 1080 brushed esc Axial 45t motor Hitec hs5645mg servo Generic 1.9 steel wheels Pit Bull Ironside Braven tires Traxxas TRX 4 shocks Tamiya 1973 Ford Bronco body |

Quality of the Boom Racing kit is ok, the frame has more flex than I like because the rails are two-piece I think. The bumper is Injora and I had to file a bit out of the brace to fit the RC4WD winch and the bumper mounts were too long so I had to cut them and Frankenstein the mount to work but it is solid. I used Tamiya PS16 paint which is a decent match for a factory Ford color from 1973. I used the body mounts that come with the SCX builders kit with no modification.

Seems to have plenty of tire clearance though the track is a bit wide.

Supposed to be 252mm but is actually 254mm, pretty close. Works for the Tamiya TT01 and CR01 bodies. I had a FJ40 body that I was going to use but then I picked up a RC4WD Gelande2 FJ kit and decided to use this Bronco I got for Christmas here. Thanks.

Sharp looking rig. I haven't kept up on the boom racing kit, sounds a little disappointing the way you talk.

Looks great! Building a classic Bronco is still on my to-do list. RC4wd and boom racing both have some narrow wheels if you want bring the track width back in a little bit.
