| Bananaclip’s 10.2 Trail Duty Yota
Hi guys! The purpose of this thread is more of a rig run down and time log. I’m just getting back into the hobby and am needing to get a rig built so I can join my pals on the trails. So I’ve been building and not taking many photos. I started with a RC4WD Yota body, a CCHand yota bed, 10.2 RTR, and some other goodies. Some pics of beginning phases Starting to look like a truck. Now I will present you with a very close to ready build of mine. Hey...... told ya is wasn’t going to be much for a build thread. I still have a few things left to do. Like..inner fenders, lights, detail paint, interior work, install new winch line, scale details. But for now I can run after I get some liquid electrical tape. Thanks Rekreant. The rig actually feels pretty balanced. I just ran into what I thought would be a potential issue. I used a new tranny I built awhile back but haven’t used it due to it having extended chromo outputs from SuperShafy. The problem lies within a rig that doesn’t need extended outputs. I can make it work with some SS exclusives super short MIP male shafts I should just do a forward mount with a GCM t case. IDk we will see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A Crew 350 would be killer. Sounds like you need to be gathering some parts. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

| Re: Bananaclip’s 10.2 Trail Duty Yota Builds back on track! Just picked up these latest version MIP’s. They are definitely smaller than he OG’s and look very nice. I also picked up a slightly used RTR trans with the metal guts. The new shafts and the rtr trans will be a temporary solution until I get time to do the proper front mount. I really like the flat bed you have there. I've not seen one that before. I have a Lexan Yota and every time I see a hardbody one it makes mine look so primitive. All good though, this is inspiration. Also, what are you using for your driver figure? He looks pretty realistic. Last edited by Tralfaz Blecht; 05-29-2018 at 07:38 PM. |

The bed started out as a CC steel bed designed for a TF2 Chassis. I ended up removing a ton of unneeded weight and added a lexan floor. Your lexan body is still a Toyota! The driver is a street league skater with Walters head and a helmet I got off shapeways... Quote:
IDK to be honest. I do know that Super Shafty has been my source for MIP's for some time now. They have exclusive (shorter/longer) MIP's and now the latest MIP. I am thinking SS and MIP are a thing....

Thays my first attempt at building a crewcab body and working with styrene. Overall not 100% happy with how it came out. But it was my first attempt so i will take it.. I have always wanted to do a hard body yota.. maybe ill just do a body up for my scx10ii. Opinions on hard Body yotas from tamiya and rc4wd? Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk |

Dang, looks great, nice job losing some unnecessary weight on the CCHand steel bed, love that bed paired with the hardbody Yota cab! Where you been, where's your TF2? I see you've kept a few cabs etc. around. |

Brother Nate! Been doing good. Had to take a break for a while. I shuffled through a lot of my builds and am currently working on 3 small tire 10.2 builds. That bed is nice but was a boat anchor. I think it looks pretty clean. What ya working on? I do have some thinking and pairing up to do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Bananaclip; 06-01-2018 at 07:36 AM.

| Re: Bananaclip’s 10.2 Trail Duty Yota I can say that I love Pitbull tires but my absolute favorite small tire is the 1.7 MTR. The tires on the left have the new foams. I slid a inner ring in the foam and they feel spot on IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Bananaclip’s 10.2 Trail Duty Yota Thanks much Nate! Always good to hear from you. My wheel/tire plan was to not buy another set of wheels (at least for now). So I picked up some 1.5 Berserkers to pair with the 1.7 steelies that are pictured with the MTR's mounted. I have a new set of Locked Up RC Black Hellcats, 2 different sets of G-made Steelies, and some SSD wheels to mate the MTR's, PBX's to. Just need to determine who goes with who. I hope to have some decent updates to post with the weekend coming up. I have been working on a hardbody Xj as well..... |
