Default Project Ding-Beat

So it is born, tonight with about two hours of building.

Axles/Links are put together

I picked up a 10 II raw kit at my lhs and married to a gen one Dingo body,
with 4.5" Pitbull Rockbeasts
3k 4 pole brushless on 3s 2200
10a bec
servo TBD

Goal.... Add serious horsepower, see what breaks. I am keeping the tire size reasonable, I could throw on some stock honcho tires...

Pics to keep things intresting.

My first SCXII had a Tekin Pro4HD 2500kv then a Brood 3600kv both ran on 3S. Nothing ever broke despite how many times I jumped it off stuff, I would guess this will hold up just as well.

If only I had video of that time it jumped down (and cleared!) a 6-7 ft flight of stairs, this post would be complete.

Looking forward to the build, the Dingo is sadly underutilized body these days.

Yeah I have been sitting on this body for a while, collecting dust. Finally bit the bullet and decided on the raw builders kit. I have everything I need except for a servo, and reciever.
People bsh the integrity of the one piece axles, Im either going to prove them right or wrong, lol. Lets see if I cant melt the plastic motor mount and gernade the axle gears....

Haven't run it yet, haven't finished building it yet....

In my twin Hammers it was a bit much, good at breaking parts, I'm just debating on if I want to break parts that bad....

Well I guess The 4k motor is staying in..... Should be stupid fun.
Anyhoo, got my Icons built.... off the Cherokee kit, lost 3 E clips, dangit. Glad the kit had a full set, they really need to include double e clips in the kit....
Waiting to stop by the lhs tomorrow to pick up some green slime for final shock assembly, then body mounting, and Rx...

Mine runs a 2380 kv motor on 3s and is too fast, I think Im down to a 7t pinon. Thats the problem with brushless motors, and gearing if your motor is too far outside the range.

I think I would switch it out now. Of coarse youll get another fun issue to deal with, and that is enough torque to lift the front end up when you gun it. But then again doing a wheelie at jogging pace is fun.

See! Now thats what I am talking about!

Bounce the front tires into the air and gun it, to launch over a rock!

Wasn't aware pinions went that small.
The stock spur on 32p goes as low as 9t for the pinion, which I have and is too low. 10t works a treat coupled with the 64t spur; that's 6.4:1 which is pretty a long range (is that correct terminology!?).
You have your 4k in there now may as well play with it

Stock pinion is 13t, I have a 9t somewhere, lol....

It's Low Range, in referance to a two speed transfer case.

So a couple issues, I am going to have to work around.....

The stock trans is sitting too high, and the motor is hitting the battery tray.

solution#1 drill out the posts a little taller.....

Other issue is my interior is hitting the reciever box.... I may do some creative trimming, or just not run the stock sliders...

I got the beater running yesterday.... Stole a tactic 3 ch rx from a boat after finding the ttx240 in a closet. LOL!

Ended up throwing the 3k kv motor in and shes quick enough to launch off my deck, short wb and light weight for the win.... the Dingo body will not fit with the wraith interior unfortunately. I found a old hacked up touring car body I had..... I kinda like the look, and the wb works....

That seems small enough that it will cause some issues. Swapping a 275mm d90 body onto my original scx10 was a bit of an annoyance. I still am not happy with the drive shaft angle.

Bone stock 11.4" wb. Stock shocks, stock everything. Brushless 3k kv motor, with body mods to clean things up. And possibly shortening the frame.
