Default Aftermarket Performance Chassis Options

I have a set of new, built-up SSD Diamond Pro axles at home. I bought them to put on an SCX10 II kit, but then I built that as-is. So now I need a home for the SSD axles.

I know ToyZuki exists and it's quite tempting, but it is also very expensive.

I'm looking more for a something like the ToyZuki rather than plain frame rails. I mean frame rails, alone, don't offer much improvement. But I'm open to options. What other options are out there?

You could consider a GCM scale trans conversion in the Axial frame rails. It is a pretty significant change from stock and provides you with one hell of a drivetrain, option to run a scale motor, and overdrive the front axle. I have built a couple now and am VERY happy with how it all works together. Just something to consider!

Very glad you've asked tis question. I'm itching to build a Class 2 truck and was also looking at a good chassis. I do have a GCM Transmission and was just going to get some Axial rails, but just wondered what else was out there...

Bowhouse RC makes a mount to correct the transmission orientation, perhaps that combined with some kind of motor flip to put the motor into the battery tray area would change things up even more?

The Scale Shop also makes aftermarket frame rails I believe.

You're a Venture fan now...there's always that builder's kit too.

Too perfect! Haven’t opened the link, but looks like you get just the bones.

It’s a great day!

Good point! I always forget about GCM.

I'm not familiar with this piece, but it sounds too much like a stock SCX10 II for me.

I could go that route, but I'd rather something more performance oriented than a stock SCX10 II.

True, but I'm not sure how the axles would work on the Venture chassis - in terms of gear ratios. Good thought though!

The Crawl Space makes a kit that flips the motor on the SCXII kit trans way up front and a high clearance chassis with better link geometry.

I'm still working on getting my motor flip installed but everything fits great so far and really changes the weight distribution. The motor flip kit and chassis can be had for less than $70.

That's exactly what I was thinking of in my post.

This. The Game Changer chassis is a killer chassis and has racked up a lot of wins at the local and national level.

I just checked out The Game Changer chassis and motor flip kit. I'm not a fan of either. The chassis looks like it borrowed heavily from ToyZuki, but offers less adjustment holes. And the motor flip kit is FDM 3D printed and it looks like low quality garbage.

Still looking for more options.

Did you ever decide on a 'performance' chassis?

I have a Team GSpeed c1v1 chassis and Team Garage Hack's T210 trans on the way. Both can be seen at either vendor's website. A set of black VP Rock Jocks built and waiting for a home. I'm ready to step up my game with the next build.
