Default Price Reductions on Jeep Cherokee RTR and Kit

It looks like the SCX10 RTR and Jeep Cherokee kit have gotten permanent price reductions. Noice! The email I received didn't mention a sale or anything. It just said price reduction so I believe these are permanent, but I've been wrong before.

Price decreases are always welcome.

Kit: $329.99 - https://www.horizonhobby.com/1-10-sc...152018_SURFACE

Cherokee RTR: $369.99 - https://www.horizonhobby.com/1-10-sc...152018_SURFACE

How much was it reduced? $20? For some reason I thought the kit was already $330. I could be mistaken though.

EDIT: Ok, they were originally $350. Back when Tower allowed coupons on Axial it was around $330.

Limited time perhaps?
Curious as this may tempt buyers away from the builders kit as you'll be getting quite a bit more.
Perhaps not, need to do the maths!
My potential easy decision on the next rig has now gotten complicated

I believe it's a $30 discount on each - kit was $359.99 and RTR was $399.99 if I remember correctly.

None of the other models (Blazer, Deadbolt, Honcho and Wrangler Unlimited) seem to be affected. They are probably just looking to move more of these older versions.

There's an outside chance that this is a sale to clean out all of the Cherokee kits and RTRs in order to push people towards the Raw Builder's Kit or one of the other RTRs.

Nah, I think it was $349.99, going off RPP (was this price since 2016) and Powerhobby.

Unless of course this is a second drop from an originally even higher price.

RPP has the RTR at 389.99 (in 2016... they had the RTR for $409.99)

On the face of it this looks to be about £70 reduction here in the UK, that's without shopping around and based on horizon shipping here.
That's a significant drop.

Lol, taxes and delivery make it £350.
Damn it.

According to Big Squid the RTR was $409 and the kit was $349. Tack $0.99 to the end of each of those for the real starting price I believe. So it appears this is not the first price drop at least on the RTR.

Either ditching the XJ RTR or standardizing it with the new housings and trans seems like it would make sense to simplify production, but Axial was always pretty weird about selling different configurations.

Nah...Unless you're a hardcore XJ guy, you'll most likely end up ditching the huge thin and fragile body, shovels for bumpers, and tires anyway so no sense in paying for all that.

IIRC the RTR was $409 or $419 when it came out but the price dropped to ~$389 a while back. Somewhere around the time the TRX-4 came out?
