I personally don't like 4.75 size tires they are massive and raise the center of gravity on any 1.9 rig. The Chuggy is built for the Activated 4.50 Class and the Chuggys chassis is built to a 4.50 size tire clearance. |

Agreed the XOR tires are not the most scale but look great. Thanks Dad! |

Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 A few weeks after the pond froze it SNOWED in East Texas  so of course I took the Chuggy out on its first snow run! I filmed enough footage for two parts and took photos. The first Video <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4ZjCq7-szBk" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0"></iframe> Photos https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4824/...08ea35ef_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4840/...4fe059c8_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4880/...90d4cca4_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4816/...3f5ed1b0_c.jpg |

Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 After the snow excursion and a year of driving time on the Chuggy the servo mount was getting weaker and the panhard bar mount would move if the steering was in a serious bind. I decided to completely redo the front frame, servo mount, and panhard mount. So The Tear Down Begins... https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4896/...6fe10953_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4806/...8cb8c899_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4913/...9388da24_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4915/...d1238ba4_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4914/...4d5f3791_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 These front links are still stock! Time for some Titanium links. Upper Link-Vanquish Products 3/16 x 90mm Titanium Lower Link-Vanquish Products 3/16 x 100mm Titanium https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4893/...a109dfac_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4904/...55e9bb9e_c.jpg As I was taking apart the Chuggy I found this crack in the frame right next to the panhard mount. I am glad im redoing the front even more now. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4872/...85260a10_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4886/...bfd48c7d_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4830/...0a2d8bb6_c.jpg |

Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 I cut the front frame off to get ready for the tube. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4868/...e440b114_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4862/...6be5432a_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4910/...e7bf7ea8_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4888/...8417b1e3_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4811/...af9d7380_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 To start the tube front I boxed in the frame and then made a single tube frame hoop and then added two more tubes. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4915/...8861ed4d_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4898/...fe698ca5_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4898/...f336941d_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4883/...589ae571_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4820/...9ca81a9a_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 I used 1/8 flat bar to mount the servo and added the tube panhard mount. I moved the drag link up on the axle knuckle and tried to mount the drag link rod end on the top of the servo horn, Ive never seen this done before so i wanted to try it. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4853/...f5c759fb_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4825/...310f532c_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4850/...a9fc81a7_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4878/...fdeb3177_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 I kept the same style front grill to hold the Cherokee grill and added panhard bar gusset. I also added tube from the a pillar v to the frame. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4912/...d7f91fc0_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4910/...aa77d310_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4879/...884b7daa_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4878/...2b818c86_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4892/...acc2cc61_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 I took the Chuggy out to the rocks to test the drag link and found out that the Chuggy had bump steer and pulled to the right when steered right so this steering setup was a fail. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4914/...76eb3a75_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4828/...e1bd40bd_c.jpg New tires to try. Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 Cherokee grilled is held snug in the front tubework and I made an electronics tray out of delrin. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4831/...838f6535_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4844/...80bedc2a_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4827/...7fbdd821_c.jpg New Steering Links https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4910/...f000df0a_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4839/...36f09949_c.jpg |
Re: ''Cherokee To Chuggy'',a AMW built SCX10 2 To fix the steering I mounted the drag link to the bottom of the servo horn and made a new tie rod with two bends to clear the servo horn/drag link. This steering has no bump steer and turns better than before. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4879/...d21d2186_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4842/...cc0188f5_c.jpg Pictures Of The Chuggy Together With The Treps Out Front. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4869/...cfa706c3_c.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4910/...a62798e3_c.jpg |
