Portals are legal but add on weights are not. They require the weight to be "functional" as in they must do something other than be weight.

Any provision for servo on axle? I'm hoping to fit these to my small-tire Bomber project.

Wow, got some people that cant have a decent conversation it seems.

Im excited to see what comes from SSD in the future for the 10.2. And thank you for the continued support of this platform!

I was browsing amain website and found they put rear portal axle as discounted. Do not know if that is a mistake.

fixed that for you. Amain seems to use that when they don't plan on carrying something sometimes. In this case I don't think that they're not going to carry them, but maybe they're not ready to list them yet.

Anyone have pics of their setup with these yet? Or feedback?

Has anyone run these yet? I can't really find any reviews.

Just got my SSD portal axles built and mounted up to my 11.4" wheelbase SCX10 II.

Might need to adjust link lengths a little before I can proceed to getting the body mounted up.

I'll report back once I get this rig up and running.

Took my rig with SSD portal axles out for its first run this weekend. The body that I will be eventually be running isn't quite ready yet, so I threw my trust old Deadbolt body on. I am aware that it looks ridiculous with these wider-than-usual axles. This was just a test run.

Looks aside, I was very pleased with the performance. Even running 4.19's it still had plenty of clearance.

Here's a mock-up of the body that will eventually make its way onto this chassis.

Once nice thing is that the SSD Portal axles can be run with standard Axial gearing. I didn't find it necessary to gear up or down. I'm running a stock SCX10-II Axial RTR 3-gear trans with 56T Spur and 13T pinion, and it didn't seem too fast on 3S or too slow on 2S with my Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 550 27T motor.

I have SSD overdrive gears (8T/27T) in the front axle, and that seemed just fine for general trail use and some occasionally more technical crawling. If I was going to be crawling in the rocks exclusively, I could just swap the portal gears and get a lot more overdrive.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase so far.
