Or just under a 1/2 inch (.472") for we the American boys! Nice.

These portals do look very nice.

Should we have any fear in overpowering them since they are a 2-gear design?

32p machined steel gears should be fine.

That's what I figured, but I thought I'd ask. It's not like I'm somebody that puts an 8,000kv motor on a 22S LiPo in my trucks anyway.

I haven't seen too many exploded input gears from the Traxxas portals and since those are sintered it's not surprise they would go first, especially when full throttle rollover recoveries commence. I think these machined gears will be fine if you respect the throttle like usual.

any reason for this?

Note:
We do not recommend using these on plastic AR44 axles with removable C hubs.

Yes, SSD gave the reason here: SDD are you holding out on us?

I quoted it below:

I'm not recommending using these on the SSD axles at the moment. As the Pro44/Diamond have cast metal tubes and the threads may get damaged. We have solution for this coming soon. New nylon tubes and new C hubs coming out for SSD axles.

We are moving away from the tiny AR44 C hub splines and have a new reliable fitting method on the new parts.

So we released these first as more of a RTR upgrade or metal axle upgrade.
SSD front portal axle will be released soon...

Pro44 and Diamonds are basically the same fitting so whenever I say Pro44 you can assume it applies to Diamonds also.

Daaaang it. I literally just built up full ssd pro axles and these come out right after. Havent even ran my axles yet lol.

Looks like rim choices may be limited with these?? It looks very tight between portal and rim.

This might have already been commented on, but can't find it via the search function.
Has a complete front portal set up being released yet, or can we now use the front set up on a Pro44/Diamond axle?
I am sorely tempted by these portals for my UMG10 build, but a little confused on the front end over what to use for a strong set up.

concerning the inner axles can we just cut the end off other axles and put flat spots on them to fit? Is that bearing race the same as on it SCX10 II spindle?

I'm still interested in getting some, just unsure on the issues with using them with Pro44's... I understand the issues, just unsure what parts to use to fix them.

Can't find the topic anymore, but I am pretty sure that was some issues with them. Maybe SSD can clear us out
