With the exception of guys swapping out electronics and servo, wheels and tires, shocks and OD / UD gears, is there anything else that are pretty basic starter modifications to the II? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Are the chubs stronger on the II than they were on the OG? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Both rigs are set with the same suspension setup and both are stock.(both run 3s) Honcho on stock electronics, and the RBK with a 3k kv 4pole motor. I swapped the soft rear springs to the front, and layed down the rear shocks by moving the mount forward, to the front most holes. As far as starter mods.... Tires are the most important thing, as they are the only thing providing traction to the ground. Non rotating weight low on the axles is what keeps those tires on the ground. Getting those tires to the obstacle is next followed by not getting hung up when you do. (Bumpers) Then comes link geometry, keeping desired tires down on climbs. (stock isn't bad) Let me know if you have any questions.... | ||

I have no experience with any other brand crawlers. I have only run scx10 OG modified. All the normal mods as mentioned above...aluminum chubs and links, tires, wheels, Traxxas big bore shocks, servo and after market electronics, OD UD gears and beef tubes. I like all my bumpers plastic. The only other thing I ever did was moved the battery across the frame rails right behind the front shock towers. Now I did pick up the Cherokee RTR scx10ii and am just hoping I like it more than my OG. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

Having awesome luck with a stock scx10-2 Honcho with the springs swapped front to back and GMade steel wheels and some good grippy tires (I have IROKs off a gen7 I got for $20 running the rtrHoncho foams) Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk |

Lol I have both too. The scx10II will run right there with your highly modified gen one. Speaking from experience here. I bought the Honcho a year ago, when they came out and find with the right, small tires it goes everywhere the big dogs go... Rigs I run it with. |
