| Class 1 Build the Comanche Now Cherokee Hardbody
Starting a Comanche truck class 1 build. It is going to be a hard body 313mm wheelbase. Parts are on order just waiting for them too come in. [IMG][/IMG] I will try to update as it progresses. This will be a competing class 1 truck so not going to go super crazy on inside details. Last edited by Walterf; 12-25-2018 at 04:04 PM. |

I was able to do some more building, as you can see it has rear wheel wells, I got a hardbody cherokee at a real good deal, but also have the cherokee coming for this build when it is getting long in the tooth. The motor and body are yet to come in. But I am pleased with the outcome so far. Any advice on the build appreciated, as I have used a lot of bits and ideas from others in this build. Welcome Walt! You're off to a GREAT START with this Build!! Those Inner Wheelwells are NICE. I wish I could afford to get me a set like that. I'll be following your build, probably getting ideas too! I'm also building an SCX10 II Comanche, but a Lexan, Class 2, with full Interior. If you have time, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at my Build as well. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...me-anyway.html Happy Holidays (Merry Christmas!!) |

The body came in today, it looks better than I thought it would for the price. Had to cut some on the front wheel wells to get a good fit. The ESC Mamba X 2280 KV motor are installed as well as the ESC to control the front bumper mounted winch. Which is going to take a lot of work to fit well. [IMG][/IMG] thanks for looking |

Got my body in, the paint job was pretty solid for being only 6 or 8 dollars more than the unpainted one.Had some fit issues to work out, but I am happy with the stance. The ESC's are in and it has yet to be turned on, waiting on some Turnigy on off switches to come for the lights and sound. . Now have to figure out body mounting, have some magnets but I would like something a little stronger. The front bumper is mounted and I am pleased with it, the rear not so much, may have to try another. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. [IMG][/IMG] |

Fun Christmas working on toy cars. The lights are working, minus painting the directional signals on the front amber, and putting in the switch to shut them off remotely. It does drive now just on carpet, I am going to call this build the "Mall Crawler" because it is shiny and new looking. Any help on body mounting ideas would be appreciated so far am using velcro on the front and thinking of a screw mount on the rear. The flex is still pretty good though hopefully it won't be needed on the trails. Still the build goes on. [IMG][/IMG] As always thanks for looking Walt Last edited by Walterf; 12-25-2018 at 02:30 PM. Took the Mall Crawler out for a test run, it did well, still have a lot more to do. But it is coming along pretty quick. https://youtu.be/c-a5JPwlWZY |

Added some more bits to the build, my dogs are upset and the driver is trying to calm down the dog in the front seat. I finished mounting the body with tabs up front and bolts in the back, it is pretty solid now. Installed the front turn signals, added a winch, Mickey Thompson Hubs. Still waiting on some parts, that is why the wipers aren't on yet. |

Sweet build Walter! Are you running your CMS without a panhard? |

You can run like that but will get lots of bump steer when you compress the suspension.

Got my Mob Audio set up in today, I installed it other than the switch to remotely turn it on or off. It sounds better than I expected, and is quite loud. The link will take you to YouTube for a short video of it. https://youtu.be/ORceqvK9xsQ Thanks for looking. Walt Last edited by Walterf; 01-01-2019 at 09:36 AM. Reason: Add Photo |

I was able to add some paint details, wipers, handles, and badging. Still waiting on more parts and details for this build. Seems like the sellers take forever to get the parts to you when you want them badly. I know they are sending them out in a timely manner, just the wait. Thanks for looking. Walt |

It looks great, a lot of what you have done is the same as what I want to do if/when I get the funds to do so. If you dont mind me asking what rear bumper did you try and not like? And do you mind sharing some pic of how you mounted the body.

I just ordered that exact same front bumper yesterday. Seeing it on yours I’m glad I did. It looks good on your truck. Which tires did you use? I might have missed that

I had a Scaler Fab rear bumper which works fantastic on the lexan body but it wasn't cutting it on the Hard Body. I am adding some pics of the body mount setup it is using. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Walt | |
