| Freshening up the old SCX20.II
So I have had this truck for a while now. I got the chassis used and did some things to it and didn't run it for a while. Time to freshen it up! Here it is in its prime: Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Here is how it sits now: Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr I've put in a order for some various SSD parts including links and some new Braven Berserkers which I am also using on my IFS Element build. They match the height of the old Proline TSL's but without the wonkie bead that proline is known for. Thinking about mounting them on these wheels that are left over from that Element build because they didn't fit. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr I've also decided to do some exterior detailing because the body looks a little unfinished compared to my TRX-4 Blazer and my other SCX10.II Bronco. Does anybody have a good source for some exterior mirrors and wipers that don't cost a mint like the stuff on Shapeways? I have my own 3D printer so I can print my own if somebody has a STL file they would like to share. I searched Thingyverse as well for files but came up empty. |

Have you tried designing the mirrors yourself? That would be free to do, and you can make them exact to your body. I design a bunch of my own stuff, and it’s pretty fun lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Wipers are rad but I have destroyed the mirrors on both my Enduro and Axial C-10 body. Looks good without them/no mounting holes, I would think pretty hard about adding them if you are hard on the truck at all.

I used to do that a lot but I don't have any software to do it anymore. I was looking into getting some more software. What do you use?

A lot use Fusion 360 because it’s free, but I don’t like F360 at all. I use Sketchup. Yes there are some limitations, but I’m familiar with it and it’s free. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah, that’s why I didn’t install the mirrors on my TW bodies because they’d just get ripped right off. Don’t like the pre drilled holes, but oh well lol. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have several other trucks with mirrors on them and haven't ripped them off yet. I guess I'm not hard on my junk, lol. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr SJJJ2626 by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Last edited by JDM74; 12-30-2020 at 02:13 PM. |

It ended up with the C10s grill. Sorry for the thread jack. Your 10ii is sweet, I may grab one later this month. Decided I really don’t want to spend a fortune on a new rig. |

I've been using the RC4WD rubber mirrors for all of my rigs. They are nice and flexible and I haven't ripped one off yet. I did drill out the lug on the backside that uses a clip to hold it on and used a 3mm screw and nut to hold them on. It holds the mirrors on tight and keeps them from spinning.

New links and mounts have been replaced. SSD Ti upper and stainless lowers are in. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Mirrors are on now too, looks much better. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr These Axial shocks are hot trash. I guess I will go on the look out for some take off TRX-4's. Anybody got any alternatives that they want to suggest that are not leaky? |

Truck looks sweet! TRX shocks are my go to shocks, I just built my 10.3 and I didn't even bother building the shocks, ordered a set of TRX shocks off of ebay, the only thing I used from the 10.3 shocks was the lower ball ends. I also like the HPI Venture shocks and the Element shocks, both of those seem to hold oil well and work nice. |

Mirrors look great on there! Just keep an eye out on them if by chance they get knocked off. One of my mirrors broke off on the first rollover! Once I bolted them on, I never had problem. They'll take a lot of abuse and bounce right back! Another vote on the Traxxas GTS TRX-4 shocks. I run them on most of my rigs and they are fantastic! The Element Enduro shocks are great too! They are super smooth and I have not had any of mine on my Sendero or Trailwalker leak a drop of oil. |
