Default Dlux Hamberger

I just recently picked up a used Hamberger trans with MT metal gears for my 10.2 and wanted to know is anyone running one and how do they like it. On paper I like everything about it, have no real world experience with it. Also what pinion sizes are you running with it in your setup? Im used to the basic 3 gear style Axial trans, so the Hamberger is a little out of my realm.

I run one one my lite weight rig. Even with the MT metal gears it’s much more lighter and compact than the 3 gear transmission. Should lower your center of gravity a little.
It’s not a complete bolt on part you have to do a little finessing to make it fit and run smooth. Also my WB is 11.4 so I had to cut down my drive line.

For gearing the MT metal gears you must use .6 mod pinion. The smallest gear you can run without modification is a 16 tooth pinion. I use a 14 tooth for a 13T HH crawlmaster. But I had to grind the center shaft a little.

Awesome info thank you! I’m a 12” wb so I’m thinking it should fit well. I’ll be running either a 27 or 35 turn HH Trailmaster Sport on 3s. I’m excited to see all the hype about these. I’ve Hearn nothing but good things about them.

I see you didn’t use the spacer between the motor and motor plate. How where you able to clear the center top shaft.
Here’s a picture of mine with the spacer.

I picked up the trans used, so the previous owner cut the shaft flush with the plate and bearing.

I keep going back and forth on grabbing one of these. The open gears just make me nervous.

Someone makes a 3D printed cover for that trans. I’m sure someone here will chime in on the name. You can’t go wrong with Dlux!

I haven’t had any issues. But I also do not intentionally go in water or mud. Unless it’s in front of a gate.
