Re: New SSD Pro44 Universal Shafts

How do they compare to the stock shafts slop wise? I'd buy em just to remove it.

More steering angle than stock?

The vp ones bind at full through

Maybe the new SSD kit will have 50 degrees of steering???"thumbsup"

Re: New SSD Pro44 Universal Shafts

50 is a conservative number. They start to get notchy at 60. But the AR44 doesn't go that far anyway.

If you mean the pin/ball slop, ours dont have that. We have tighter tolerances.

Re: New SSD Pro44 Universal Shafts

More so at the locker, stock ones drive me bonkers, almost an 1/8 turn between wheels. But pin/ball is also good to know. Love the rest of your stuff so hoping I have an excuse to buy more.

What knuckles are available that take advantage of the extra throw? Very interested in these!

Any word yet on the slop at the locker with these? I'd like to order up a set soon.

Are these included in the Pro44 complete front axle?

No. The complete axle set comes with CVDs.
These were made later.

My stock axles allow the wheels to freely rotate about 30 (correction -- more like 10) degrees before engaging and I'm hoping SSD axles will fix that, especially since I have SSD six bolt lockers already in place.

Any decision reached? This thread seems to have stopped too soon.

???

I'm going to go with zero change to rotational slop, I asked over 6 months ago and still no response.

I love SSD products but usually no answer means no good answer is available so probably just best to avoid these if that's the issue you are looking to correct like myself.

The best cure for this is to drive a TF2, with the 2 speed tranny first. Then switch to your 10.2. You'll stop caring about that 10 degrees. Besides, a bit of rollout is scale!
