Default New portal axle

Hello hobbiest I was informed about a conversion of a44 bolt on portals , RC4WD has just announced Scale Portal Axles for Axial AR44 axles. The RC4WD units are beefy enough to take on the toughest of trails and feature the scale detailing that is demanded of today’s consumers. Here are the highlights-

* Hardened steel CVD axles
* CNC machined aluminum housings
* 10.4mm total height added
* 5x9x3mm bearings
* 13 tooth, 32 pitch hardened steel gears
* Front retains stock steering angle

The Front AR44 Portal Axles are priced at $119 with a part number of #Z-A0131. The Rear AR44 Portal Axles are $99 with a #Z-A0132 part number.

It's RC4WD so I don't have high hopes on the quality.

SSD has/had PRO44 portal axles, but I don't see them anymore. Were they discontinued?

These don't have any gear reduction much less optional ratios of gear reduction.

Fragile CVDs and bad gearing are why no one used the RC4WD portals for the old SCX10 axles, these seem to be repeating all the same mistakes.

Temporarily pulled them from market to increase CVD size and update the rear axle. They will be rereleased soon (2 weeks).
We also have new aluminum options for the rear and weights. Our portals have reduction that can be switched to overdrive by swapping the gears around.

Awesome to hear SSD

The rc3wd portals have no reduction, so essentially you're just doing a really expensive lift and gaining a bit of pumpkin clearance. No thanks.

I do kinda remember that now that you mention it. I'm all for running product improvements!
