Default Tamiya Fj40 on SWB SCX10ii Questions

I built a SWB SCX10II with plans to use it in a Sand Scorcher build but I think the SS body is just too small to look good on this chassis. I picked up a Tamiya Land Cruiser body to use instead since it is a much bigger body and has the same wheelbase. The problem is that the track width seems too wide. I looked for a narrow axle for the SCX but Im not finding anything, is there a compatible narrow axle that would work here? Could I get a wheel set with an offset that would pull the wheels in a bit? In the pictures I have it sitting on Injora 1.9 steelies and Pitbull Ironside tires, I does not look like I will have any serious clearance issues but it looks a bit odd with most of the tire outboard of the fenders. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Beeftubes offers a set of narrowed AR44 axles with pre-installed brass tubes. They are 1/4" narrower (on each side) than standard AR44's.

You will also need a set of narrowed universals up front, narrowed rear axle shafts, and shortened steering tie bar, panhard, and drag links. It ends up being pretty pricey, but it all works well.

I just built a 250mm wheelbase "Zukosaurus" chassis (which uses mostly SCX10-II components) and topped it with a clone of a Tamiya Bronco body.

The offset of the wheels you use will make a big difference too. The wheels I am using have 3mm hub spacers in them. That's why they are sticking out. I plan to remove the hub spacers, or just use different wheels with more offset to bring the wheels back in some. You might be able to get by just picking wheels with the right offset, but I think the narrowed axles look much better on these small bodied-rigs than standard-width AR44's do.

Another option is to use MST CMX axles. They are narrower than AR44's, but I am not sure how good they are. Never used them myself.

Looks like you are fairly close as is. You could go with a wheel with a heavy positive offset to get the desired positive track. RC4wd just released a new 1.7 wheel that looks the part.

Proline FJ with standard ar44 and boom racing narrow wheels. Each side could sucked in another 1/4" but i am running 10mm hexes.

Stock SCX10.2 axles, Zukosaurus SWB chassis, Pitbull Rock Beasts and Gmade steelies. The bigger tires help a lot justify the wide track but it looked amazing.

Sorry to thread jack but what is a zukosaurus SWB chassis and where can I get one?

Also you might try the new team garage hack wheels they are supposed to reduce track width.

Thanks for all the responses! I have the Boom Racing SWB kit on this and that takes care of the wheelbase though I think I am going to get the the Gelande 2 Cruser kit for my FJ bulid and probably sell this body along with my CC01 to raise funds. I think I might sell the swb kit as well and build the SCX10 into something else. Thanks again for all of the suggestions.
