Appreciate the kind words y'all! Got the truck out this weekend, got the itch to start messing with it again. Gonna start up an FJ80 body soon too so I can replicate my other 1:1.

FJ80 Time! Inspo link: https://scalebuildersguild.com/forum...ta-build/page8

As received. Body isn't too bad, a bit of flashing and some mold posts to trim.

Not sure on the tire sizing yet. the 4.7" wildpeaks seem a little big, but the 4.15" Growlers seem a little small. I've seen some other builds in the 4.3" diameter range that seem dialed in. I'm waiting on some RC4WD BFG K02's that will likely be close to the wildpeaks in size. Worst case scenario I can put the growlers on the new 1.9 wheels when they come in.

Got the body trimmed up for now (bumper + boards gone), waiting to finish trimming the flares until I get the body mounting / wheel setup finalized. Working on the front bumper now, first time brazing so be gentle.

Also got some perfect 1:1 clones of my aux lights from RC4WD: https://store.rc4wd.com/RC4WD-KC-HiL...IaAvOhEALw_wcB

Interior is hopefully something like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GLDJBJ6...8382468&sr=8-1) but that and the body mounting are my two big remaining question marks. Will probably finish the whole thing off with a bike rack / roof rack and a touch of weathering.

Pics!

Man, you dove right into the hobby with your "first" build. Awesome.

I'd love to have a BED exactly like that for my C10! Knight Customs used to sell one on shaeways I think, but not available anymore and I only have a laser printer LOL ... anyone willing to print me one?

You'd be correct!

Thanks! Hope you find a way to get ahold of one. Definitely made my C10.

Got the truck wrapped up before heading out west for a bit. Went with the Proline BFG KM3's (4.25 ish OD). Pretty happy with the color. Ended up printing some roof rack runners but not using them as I'm afraid to glue PLA to the body as it seems to shrink heavily under UV. Very happy with the body overall. Had a less than favorable run-in at a shop trail out in CO, ended up goofing the fender up a bit more than I'd like. I'll likely patch that up, get some scale diff covers in place and then keep enjoying the truck. Emblems coming soon. Maybe an interior in a bit. Also going to replace the rubber wipers wtih some printed ones as these jiggle all over the place.

This'll cover the rest of the body mounting, bumper fab and paint / finishing.

On to the pics!

Quick 1:1 Refresher

Thanks! Had lots of fun with them.

Got the fender patched up, new SSD diff covers and a tag. Still waiting on the RC4WD emblems

Next up: Print some less floppy wipers, sort out an interior, maybe a tint redo and some scale claptrap.

Got a few more scale items / paint + body details wrapped up! Got some thinner wheel keys in that allowed me to throw the hubs back on. Looking forward to finishing out the interior / wheel wells and tweaking the setup for better crawling.

Default SCX 10.2 GMC Build

Hey don’t know how “crazy” you want to get but there’s a company on eBay ‘Alientac’ that makes the wheels on your 1:1 LC. You would have to do some painting and polishing but they’re basically replicas lol

Sorry took pic down because it looked like an add on my forum app!

Damn, they are super close! Great find, I appreciate you posting it. Might have to look into those if I can sort out a home anodizing setup.

How’d you do your license plate on the FJ80? It looks great! I tried to do one myself and it’s pretty fuzzy.

No prob! The lips could be stripped and polished. Getting that plated look on the centers might be tricky, but based on your work so far I’m sure you could figure it out

More Progress! Rolled the dice on a snorkel for ebay...definitely got burned. Wrong side of the body and fit like shit. On to the next.

Still waiting on the spare tire swingout:

After some marinating, I realized the RCModelex full interior tray is really only suited for their chassis and won't clear the stock SCXII trans hump :( So I started in on printing my own undercarriage and will likely be sorting out the rest of the interior myself. They do sell a standalone dash though which will be nice. My 1:1 has a drawer / sleeping platform setup in the back, so that will be easy enough to replicate. I plan to copy the RCM door card styling for the rears and I'll mock up the seats myself.

Also added a new Savox steering servo (stock wasn't getting through some of the tougher situations) and some proline shocks. Went with the 105mm configuration and a "lay down" setup in the rear / moving the lower pivots to the link mounts rather than on top of the axle. I partially filled them for some sag and I'm very happy with the ride height. I now have more adjustability in the event I add more weight to the body and the travel / droop is a great improvement.

Will be rounding out the undercarriage, figuring out something like the below shot for a "simulated stock mudflap" look, waiting on more detail accessories and getting out with it as much as possible! Open to input on where else the detail could be improved!

I love the 1/10 with 1:1 shots, a build seems so much more satisfying when it's a replica of an actual/your own vehicle. Nice work
